    Review: 4frnt hoji

    I did.

4FRNT had a thread a while back where they asked about 2023 topsheets and I said bring back the Pilsners. Was pretty excited by this.

I had Sollyfit plates on 2013 OG 187cm Pilsners, set up for STH 16s and Dynafits. Here's a pic of me on those OG 187cm Pilsners….I was skinning up inbounds at Baker before the lifts were running.

I was also about 2 weeks in after leaving a long-term marriage, and didn't give an f about anything except my 2 sons, and surviving the winter….skiing Mt. Baker (81 days) saved me that season. That’s also when I joined tgr and started gear collecting.

That time had many crazy changes (all for the better). I still have really good memories of living alone at a Baker cabin in Glacier, WA, driving back to Canada to teach 2 days a week at the university. And skiing the shit out of those Pilsner Hojis the rest of the week. Got yelled at by patrol for skiing too fast at Baker. That’s hard to do. Those Pilsners were by far my favorite skis that year, lots of memories.

So I couldn't resist today and bought a pair of 184cm Pilsners right at 10:00 am PST.

I think ski companies need to do more of this retro stuff? K2 did it last year with the Merlin version of the Mindbender 108s.

I've also initiated a return for my new 2023 184cm Hojis that I just bought.... though part of me wants one pair with tech binders, and one with Pivots? Though my 2023 Hojis are not the 4-Locks.

This color combo works...new Pilsners and new Forza 3.0:

Is it just me or did a bunch just go back up on the site cuz of initial orders not going through? I really can't afford to make another bad decision right now...

Hoji said on instagram they sold out in 10 minutes, pretty impressive. Couldn't justify a pair for how much I am skiing lately but loved my 2013's with the OG Pilsner graphic so much. Was cool to read the background of the graphic, didn't realize Hoji drew it himself and which mountains were an inspiration for it and how he updated it for 2023 heritage version (Mt. Meager).

Shoot I missed them. I had some of the original Pilsners but sold them to a mag here a couple yrs ago
I’m probably due for a new pair of hojis though. Still wish I could get my hands a set of the white bear graphics Hojis from 2 seasons ago.

What size? I feel like I've seen a few come and go over the last couple years--I'll keep an eye out.

Gosh those are so good. Would've been perfect for my wife (shes from Sask). If anybody has a line on some 177 Hojis or Ravens hit me up. I want to get her into touring hah.

I got a pair of the 184 Pilsner Hojis I simply couldn't resist the beauty and I've always wanted a post-EHP EH ski.

    I have:
    186 4FRNT EHPs w P12s (07/08 so one year before the 08/09 Pilsner EHP)
    184 DPS A112s w Tectons

I seem to have a thing for 112/113 underfoot skis (also have Rossi RC112s wP14s, but those are only a 2-3 day a year ski)

How should these Hojis fit into my quiver besides their amazing beauty?

    Haha. I know.

Will post some pics by tomorrow.

    Was building anticipation.

Received mine. Topsheets 100%. Less underfoot contact than I was anticipating / hoping for (admittedly, I was hoping for a bridge to the 193 EHPs .

    Gorgeous

I wonder if I should have gotten the longer length...

    I'll do side-by-side with Hoji/EHP/A112/RC112

Here's my new 184cms....lots of rocker!

And a pic of my 2013 OG 187cm Pilsners...I had quite the wide-waisted (Mt Baker) quiver that year. Hojis we’re my narrowest ski. Haha. Hojis, YLE’s, Owl Rens and Comis!

    2023 Hoji 184cm Pilsner 128-112-120 30m
    2018 DPS Wailer A112RP 184cm 140-112-127 17m
    2017 Blizzard Bodacious 185cm 138-118-127 27m
2008 EHP 186cm 128-116-122 40m (just like the 09 EHP Pilsner dimensions. 112mm dimensions printed on the 08 topsheet were a typo)
    2010 Rossignol Phantom RC112 Pro 188cm 140/112/120 35m

I don't know why TGR is rotating the photos 90 degrees. The orientation is right on my camera and computer.

My pics did the same. Had to capture horizontal and crop before posting.

That's super annoying. Here's the pro maggot tip I learned: if you crop them ever so slightly (like one pixel) before posting to TGR, then post, they will retain the orientation you want.

    No idea why.

But....this thread is making me SO STOKED to get out touring on my Hojis. WOOT!!!!! Thanks peeple

Long shot, but anyone want to trade their 191 pilsner for a 184 pilsner?
