Most of the reviews or info is on the old version before this year which is a very different ski. The 22 model is very flat under foot and has a lot more edge contact than the old version that skied short. I was on the old 195’s for many years and the new 191’s skied much bigger and were generally more work. They are a more powerful and stable ski but give up some of that original Hoji feel that made them super maneuverable. I’d give the 177 a go.

Any more reviews on the new (21/22) Hojis? I have a set of 191 Hojis (with 4-lock) on the way to me. Will be mounted with Moment Voyager and bought them to replace Moment Wildcat Tour 108.

Anything over 12 inches or so, I'll be on 187 Praxis Protests (w Alpinists). For post-consolidation spring, have 183 BD Helio 95s. [/blog]

PSA: 191 Hojis (display) on sale for 545: https://4frnt.com/collections/stash/...2-hoji-display

191 Hoji (21/22) with tour lock hole arrived at my house: the skis look absolutely gorgeous.

Mounted up with Voyager 14. Was tempted to throw Cast or Duke PT on there...and still may. We'll see - start with this for now, maybe insert it.

Weighed 2177g and 2197g per ski. Spec is 2060g. A little portly, but the ski looks ready to lay waste to snowflakes

Rocker pic kinda sucks sorry, but it's long, low, flattish to rockered with a beautiful curve and stiffness. Can't wait for some 3D snow!

I owned 2013 Hojis with Dynafits and always wanted to ski them fast inbounds and wanted burlier bindings.

So last year I put Duke PT 16s on both 2022 184cm Rens and Ravens. I think the Duke PT is a great binding for all of Hoji’s skis. Ya they’re heavy. But you can rage hard inbounds, which his skis are so fun for, but then can take for a quick side lap? I don’t know much about CAST, just seems possibly sketch mounting? eg mounting the posts “off” seems a risk/possibility?

I spent a ton of days on the third gen hoji this season, and I would think that and its new, shorter, counterpart are too light to really rally in the resort. Id argue if you're looking for something that can do both to look at a k2 reckoner 112, or a Inthayne. Keep touring clamps on the Hoji: Zeds, ATK, Tectons.

Also, after skiing the raven almost exclusively this spring - Im not surprised that Hoji doesnt spend much time on the Hoji. It's a great jack of all trades, but a two ski BC quiver of a Raven + Renegade makes a ton of sense for folks.

I have last years Ravens and Renegades. Both are mounted with Duke PT 16s. I skied the Ravens a ton inbounds during the low tide we experienced after early January.

Sort of agree with above. Except I think the Hoji would rip inbounds too.

Had a 20% off 4FRNT code from joining Blister, that I just used on 2023 184 Hojis. Plan is to mount with gold Pivot 15s for use in the resort. Don’t care that the Hoji would also be an awesome 50/50 ski. I have Bentchetler 110s with Tectons for that. I love Hoji’s shapes. Am blown away how well the Ravens ski. I want that same feel more. I now have 184cm Ravens, Hojis and Renegades. At my 165 lbs the 184cm Hoji will be an awesome all-around/fun inbounds ski for how/where weI ski.

Last Hojis I owned were the 2013 Pilsners. They were nice. The 2023 Hoji topsheets are nice too (and profile pics):

    2021/22 191 Hoji w 4-Lock: 2177 and 2197 grams per ski
    W Voyager 14s: 2560 and 2578 grams

Kinda portly but damn they ski good in spring conditions. Just got them mounted in late April so no cold snow conditions yet.

Stated per ski weight per website is 1990 gm. Just weighed my 2023 184’s on the kitchen scale, here are the weights:

    1973 gm

    1952 gm

They look good in the new kitchen reno.

How similar does the Heritage FL 113 look to an EHP?

Marshal prob has side by side pics and all kinds of specs, but in the meantime based on my rough eyeballing... lengths (check), weights (check), radius (check - ie, straight), flat instead of full reverse camber (check), tip rocker (EHP looks earlier but lower with lower tip splay), tail rocker (EHP more), tip splay (again EHP less I think, and therefore easier to dive the tips), tip taper (EHP more). The biggest difference is rec mount point with the EHP at like -7 or 8 I think vs -11.5. But I'd think with the flat bottoms and virtually no sidecut, you could mount them wherever.
I'd have to dig through the old discussions but am I right to summarize the FL113 as a hybrid of an EHP and Head Monster? I don't know enough about the Head.
Probably the closest thing to the EHP was the old Head A Star (I think it was called). From recollection, looked like an EHP clone including massive tip taper.

I’ve never been on an EHP, but it has quite the cult here.

I’m looking for something flat with a long radius for open crud fields. Reverse camber just lacks suspension.

The Hoji is also on my radar. But so much rocker is stirring me away.

Big EHP fan, I’m always on the lookout for another pair of 186s. The 193 is awesome too but I’m short.

I have ~2014 Hoji 187s, and they’re great skis but they don’t have any more suspension than Renegades, maybe less, IMO. 194 Devastator and Moment Chipotle Bananas have the best suspension of any reverse camber ski that I’ve been on. I replaced Renegades with CBs because I no longer have the legs to ski Rens for a few days in a row without getting tired, and I really notice the rocking horse feeling when that happens. CBs are almost as fun in untracked powder as Rens and they’re way more fun and easy to ski in variable conditions.

I guess you could say the FL113s drew design elements from, amongst others, the EHPs, along with their contemporary comp style chargers, like the Faction Thirteens. simplified, radically, thirteen sidecut with more EHP-like slarvy tips and tails. Camber(zero)/rocker profile of EHPs more than thirteens, but really meant to not fuck you over when it gets rough.

Never skied Monsters, but Marshal certainly has a love affair with those things, so he'll have to chime in on that.

Really can't wait till January to get on the 113s!
