Ouisi - connecting through play
Outside the box
Brain games: OuiSi connections are cognitive exercises that develop critical and abstract thinking in young minds while keeping adult minds sharp and flexible.
Understanding: Conversations evolving from OuiSi will leave everyone feeling heard and curious about other players.
Screen breaks: OuiSi is a calming invite to put down tech gadgets and engage. You're still using your eyes, but you're seeing differently.

Looking for a nice but good value ladies' cashmere sweater for around the house/warmth wear. More towards the 'lasts forever' than ultra luxe side. Was thinking around $150 or so but happy to adjust that either way...thanks!

I own two, and I live in them. After a couple years of hard use, they show none. Tough to get (get on their e-mail list) and pricey, but worth it.Is it radix panax notoginseng? - splat

Jelly of the month club... it's the gift that keeps on giving.
Seriously though.... I'd pobably keep it neutral, something like a down throw from Eddie Bauer is always good.
If it's a woman you could go with a nice gift set of soap/body lotion/etc.
If it's a guy maybe a money clip like the one OG got from his son and loves.“When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

Do you like the person? Or not?
If you don't like them, shit truffles, with actual shit.
If you do like them, but can't stand their politics and want a funny way, instead of the above literal way, to to tell them to eat shit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PR33Y3U...FSFYMZPC7B190V

KQ Claus, my wife wants a wall mounted coat rack for the entryway.
I picked up a piece of reclaimed oak board, cut it down to 32" to mount between wall studs, planed it flat, and squared the edges.
My thought was to purchase cast iron double-hooks but my friend with the tools suggested I spin wooden dowels on the lathe. Any insight?

Sounds like you've made a beautiful back piece that deserves equally beautiful hooks.
There a many ways to go with this - I've got both wood and iron coat racks and I will tell you if you go the wooden dowel route make sure they have a nice angle to keep your coats on the rack and off the floor (BTDT) and If you go with one of the many cool cast iron options out there just make sure they aren't too pointed or your coats will get damaged (BTDT also)
Another option, if available to you, might be antler pieces.
If she has an animal she likes you might try to find it in cast iron - lots of horses, rabbits and the like out there. There are also some cool fleur de lis and hearts (the part that attaches to the board). If you go with a double hook stick with the stacked option not the side-by-side as they are never really spread far enough apart.

I'm all for turning--obviously not just straight dowels but something with some shape.
If you want to get fancy you could saw slits in the ends of the pegs and put wedges in from behind to get a snug fit, plus glue. If you want to get real fancy you could drill holes in the board that only go partial thickness, but the wedges in the pegs, insert the pegs and let the bottom of the holes drive the wedges home, hopefully right when the shoulder of the peg is touching the board. Look up blind wedged tenons. And if you do the second one practice on some scrap.
Orient the pegs, slits, and wedges so that the wedges push towards the ends of the board, not the top and bottom, or you might split the board.
You could use some nice wood like walnut for the pegs.
Nothing wrong with nice wrought iron.
For me the key to any clothes hook is a fat enough end that won't poke holes in your clothes. Especially if you're into Arcteryx.
