Okay... the gauntlet is thrown down!

How about a mix CD filled with love songs just for her from your heart to hers.

Edit: Here's a sweet one I wish I could take credit for but I found it online:

For our second married Christmas, I had a blank book that I filled with short written memories of things my husband and I had done. It was nothing fancy. It wasn't scrapbooked. There are no pictures. Just short stories, inside jokes, and song lyrics. And it's a favorite... we laugh every time we read it.

KQ is pretty much killing it here, making me rethink my image of her as a simple farm girl. Her answers like the one about Chanel fragrances prove she hasn't been mucking pens her whole life.

I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Hey KQ Claus, I have no idea what to get my Wife.

That Rabbit thing is tempting but that'll mean I get laid less and that's not good.

Have a jeweler buddy who has made her more stuff than I care to think about and I have run the gauntlet with all the fancy pants spas in JH. So no needs there.
Kids get her bath shit and lotion goop.
I suck at picking out clothes. She buys what she needs anyway.

My wife doesn't need much. Dinners, nights out..,she doesn't care about. Tough gal to buy for.

Thought of sending her on a trip somewhere. Any ideas? Can she come visit you and learn how to cook?

A year ago july I drug my wife to a KISS concert becuase I got the tickets on groupon for $20 and my inner 13 year old really needed it. I didn't check the fine print and it was on her birthday. And she went like a trooper, and to remind me got me a Gene Simmons xmas ornament for christmas in full pimp gear with the scaled 7 inch tongue sticking out. It was hystrical unwrapping it, I mean nothing says yuletide more than Gene Simmons.

And I'm deadly serious when i say it was the best gift she's gotten me. maybe ever. Laugh everytime i think of it.

adorable - has to be the orange tabby though.

I'm going to have to give some thought to your first question now that I know where you're at (even though "central CO" is a big area).

    KQ,

I'm having a purse made for my wife by a local leather guy. It's close to the purses she's been hinting at by showing me off the shelf stuff made by little Chinese ladies. I also bought her a drill so she doesn't have to steal mine anymore.

Am I on point here? Should I just say fuck-it and buy her a jack-rabbit?

    KQ is indeed killing it.

Meanwhile Meadow Skipper is fronting with his usual aw-shucks firefighter/ski patroller persona while a heretofore unacknowledged inner metrosexual is revealing itself, what with the Chanel fragrance and cashmere coat/aplaca throw questions.

EDIT TO ADD: actually I found the alpaca throw KQ posted quite fetching, and indeed did subsequently purchase one as a gift for that special someone for Xmas. No lie. Thanks KQ Claus!

Hmmmmm, she is tough. Did you see that thing I posted about the notebook up a few posts? Sounds like she needs something that goes straight to the heart. A family portrait? Or maybe something practical to keep her safe while driving like a Rescue Folding Knife with Glass Window Breaker, Seatbelt Cutter.

Is there something you could sign up to do together? You mentioned cooking, maybe the two of you could sign up for a short series of cooking classes.

Oh... I thought you said "budget". Hawaii is pretty cheap right after New Years. Galapagos would be nice this time of year (I've been there - tres cool) of course there is always somewhere closer like NOLA - superbowl is there January 1 then Carnival starts on the 6th. Austin has a great music scene.

You know a place I've always wanted to go is Catalina Island. Now that would be sweet!
