    Future ambitious line considerations...

South Face of Williamson, approach from George Creek (good luck).

Cool line just north of vacation pass, up one of the upper Southern arms of George Creek

It turns out that the Eastern Sierra is neither a desolate wasteland nor a terrible place to backpack with friends and family in September.

Where was that? I love backpacking on the eastside. It is either up or down, but few trees to block the views, and fantastic alpine likes to camp everywhere you go.

That is awesome AKbruin. I can't wait til my kids are a bit older and I can take them out into the Sierra.

In other news, anybody see this:

Damn. I guess Split didn't provide enough of a closeout couloir.

Hutash climbed that spine this summer. (D, post your photos! I just use TGR's The Stash to host them.)

Nice TR. East side is nice in the summer when it snows a million inches.

New restaurant in Bridgeport! Three95 Mexican Cafe.

Open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the winter. Finally, someone between Tahoe and the Eastern Sierra will fill the early-morning breakfast burrito hole.

You don't find the Mono Market to meet that need?

We must have just missed you powderwhore. VA lakes ski was great today. And we conveniently snagged breakfast burritos at the Mono Market afterwards 🤙

Right on, thank you very much for the quality skin track. Looks like you had just as much fun as we did, score!

Nice job, fellas. I was solo-parenting this weekend and didn't do shit. I'm super jealous.

A friend has recommended the Mono Market (which, Hutash, is different from the Whoa Nelli Deli in the Mobile gas station), but I always forget about it. It's on the list now.

$5-$6 ready made burritos, and open year round, son. What more you need to know?

Went for a walk N' Slide out at the high lakes. Generally solid supportable coverage. N aspect was frozen with a rain crust on top. Dug a quick pit. Found 85cm with a crust samich at the top with consistent cold snow below.
Facets at the bottom. Sunny side skied much better.

Climbed it but it was a bit funky for skiing. Opted for the shoulder.

Is the steep peak Virginia peak?

I skied it once starting from Virginia lakes, with an overnight, but I'm wondering if starting at Green Creek might be better.
