That was BADASS. Makes me want to be a cop in a resort town.

I remember a former snowboard shop employee turned Vail cop who got his promotions to detective and then to the big show in denver by busting all his stoner riding buddies.

Any resort that uses traffic lights at the lift maze and trail maps and puts lightbars and sirens on their snowcats is pathetic....however a jackknifed semi on east bound Vail pass can be a pretty good thing on a powder day

Wonder what a Vail cop makes?

If it is like our "resort town" not much, as it is safer than shit here for everyone, cops included. Most action they get is writing tickets and hassling kids for no helmet or riding a skate board. And then there is the occasional asshole that hassles me for having my dogs off lease. After 30 years, you would think they know my MO.

Around JH believe the salary is between $50-65k for regular officers so maybe similar?

It's not really the money, per se, although that's important, it's the retiree benefits for most cops.

Not true. A five-year guy (or gal) there makes roughly somewhere between $28 and $35 per hour. Maybe $60k to $75k per year. There was an article in the paper a year or two showing the Chief makes somewhere around $110k. Patrol officer won't make close to what the Chief is making.
No idea what Vail PD pays.

I love seeing cops at ski resort.
Last year, I was witness to a police officer "subduing" (or assaulting) a skier who was caught skiing too fast in a slow ski zone .... seriously.
