Also, looks like it'll be a white Christmas across the West. Good week for fresh beacon batteries.

excellent. thanks MTM and Rontele. I poked around a bit at McLure. Need some more quad strength handle the snowmobile tracks once the snow sets up.

Check out what the models are saying for the 7-day forecast, especially the +60" snow total gray areas:

This gives an idea of timing and PI rates for McLure Pass:

The forecast looks good. McClure and the Sunlight backcountry do really well with W/SW flows.

Congrats, for getting back on the skis!

I think you'll like it here.

Eventually, you'll want to get up to Marble.

    Are you getting a pass?

Yeah, I have a Sunlight pass, which will be just my speed for a while.
I spent seven summers doing outdoor ed work based out of Marble, so I know that area well, though not when it's got it's winter coat. One May I solo skied the W chutes of Snowmass in like 2009 or '10 and one other time I used the Bible Camp bridge to ski the prominent avy path on Whitehouse then had a cold creek crossing at the end, but definitely don't know the "normal" uptrack routes or names or popular lines. I bookmarked Backcounrty Skiing CO and Lou's Marble site. I gotta get a lot more consistent before tree skiing though, or I'll just Sonny Bono myself. Maybe I'll be up to that speed in a few more months.

Hoping the snow gods deliver the goods, I'm rolling into town for MLK! Outside of dreams of endless pow, anything happening in town or on mountain that I need to check out. There's always something wacky happening in Fat City.

I'd rock mine if it hadn't shrunk so much! Still in the closet, because I just can't get rid of it.

I'll have to poke around up there tomorrow.

Mine is pretty tight and just an inch or two too short on the arms and legs.

Might want to wait for another foot or two. AVSC should take the groms in there for some compaction training. They don't buy their own skis anyhow.

Agreed. I was a bit jealous of friends hitting Alta and Jackson this weekend, but we had plenty of nice turns!
