Speaking of "boom sticks" Alta used a shitload yesterday to get ballroom/shoulder open. I counted about 11 charges total some 3 at a time.
Also scary to note a lot of terrain that was previously skied at Alta slid. Gunsight to the creek, and a lot of big pockets in thirds. a big one in backside across and almost to the creek no wonder patrol is so sketch about opening stuff.

Upper e facing off ridges had a little wind funk. Down about 100 ft lower was damn near perfect. Kept it mostly in the trees/meadows but skied a few short rollovers w no instabilities noticed. Pretty much a perfect day.

Green's today was a great tour. Honeycomb was getting hit hard with explosives. We were out between 12 and 3, and it was constant bombing till we got in the car and headed home. ECT22 at 8850, 28deg slope, ENE on ridge separating greens/days.
Reuch Block failed at 2nd hard jump after 5 slight bounces. Shearing down at ground on the bad facets.

! found stable snow today, from 6200-10200' on north and west facing aspects.
Angles over 35° were skied successfully and without incident.

Natural activity from the 23rd-Davis Gulch(looker's left) to Dead Snag(middle right). 6-8" covers debris.
Upper was a little wind effected.

Millcreek today... It was so good no photo/video machines were taken out. Rode Bowman Fork top to bottom and it was dreamy pow half pipe slashing goodness on a snowboard. Funnest run of the year so far! South aspects had a crust which didn't soften really with the overcast today. Top which is also the entrance to Toots had a 1-2" wind slab on all aspects, but after 100 yards into Bowman it disappeared and became settled pow awesomeness. Lower elevation snowpack was better today than it ever was at any point last season. Saw nothing move/cracks and no whumphs. Top was 38˚ according to the pocket inclinometer, we used one person at a time to a safe spot protocol for the first 1/3 of the run, then let it rip to the flats.

Damn Wizard, could you have set the skin track any steeper?

    (maybe it wasn't you)

Patsy Marley from Alta skied beautifully. I'd imagine the snow up above the pitch you ski at Alta is just as good and steeper. Watch out some barely covered big rocks out there.

Awesome day out there today with sfotex. Hiked Brighton under Milly, exited and did a lap down Figure 8, headed up Twin Lakes Pass, then across the backside of Honeycomb to Silver Fork and down, to Days fork and down, to the car we left at Spruces. Nothing moved under or around us, seemed like a lot of the steeper stuff had already slid to the ground. Plenty of awesome snow skied. Kickass day all around. Heading to Jackson for the holiday tomorrow, enjoy it out there...

bummed we missed ya think we were just a head of yas w/ a frozen cell phone
    gourgeis day
plenty of "safe" bed surface some skiing better than others
instabilities limited to sluffs of new snow running on bed surface and poor overall snowpack structure

continue to carry large safety devices and use as necessary
