So after a few years of using this to pack camping equipment I bought a truck and a travel trailer, and had no more use for it.
It has been sold to ShortyJ for what I paid and hopefully he uses it for skis more than I did.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

The guy who stole my vintage Scot Schmidt Steep Tech jacket at the Bozeman Swap many years ago scored pretty big.

Back in '92-'93 I scored a pair of these:

210 PRE M6.2 that had been skied maybe twice by my boss at the time.
I got those and a really nice pair of demo bindings for $150.
Those were my go to bump skis for years after. Last time I took a look at them they had plenty of life left, probably due to the metal layer in there that kept them snappy.
Best ski in the bumps for me, ever. Get lazy for even a second, and it was to the moon for you.

2nd best score was not swap related.
My Salomon X-Waves literally started to disintegrate on me at Alta so I somehow made it down to the Powder House shop in front of Goldminer's with both skis still attached, barely. Went in to demo some boots, but since it was 3 weeks to close, they had crazy sales going on. I walked out with a pair of Atomic Hawx 130 for $325. That was an $800+ boot a couple weeks prior. They had been used twice, by employees. Guess they were just too stiff for most. I think they are the best boots I have ever had. You even think about turning, and they respond.

Last year: Kastle MX 98/194. $175. Although, I know why they were cheap: can’t use them around here…they NEED room to breathe!!!

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Super Bros drilled incorrectly (but correctly for me...had a pair of the same bindings too). $100. Still love those skis on 'select' days. Purchased here many moons ago.

Not from a swap, but last week I picked up this bundle- for $100:

    1) Four sets of poles - 1 adjustable, new, Leki hikers, 1 carbon Smith, 2 nicer aluminum Scotts. The fixed length poles are all Mrs C's size.
    2) Atomic Metron B5, with Neox bindings, in what was apparently the longest length, 172cm. Minty. Might be fun on groomers...?
    3) Atomic Sugar Daddy, also with Neox, 193cm. Minty.
    4) Fischer Alltrax 74, 183cm, Markers. Minty. Groomer rock ski for Mrs C?
    5) Some old Dynastar skinny ski, with FKS bindings.
    6) Spatulas, with demo Salmons. Pretty decent condition.
    7) Snow Shark monoski, around 188cm, with Salomon 997s. Stiff as hell. Gonna be some good crashes! I've never skied a monoski.

Holy shit... all that for $100? The spats alone would be a great score at that price!

I got my ski box off a really local Craigslist ad for $50. It was locked so I had to cough up $15 for new lock cores. Inside I found crossbars and a bike tray. That was back in 2008. It's still going strong.

Thrift store scores.. The Ski TSR, Olin Mark IV Comp.. excellent condition. All metal 727s on both.. $10/pair..
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

I messaged that guy within 24 hours of his post and said I'd take the Spatulas and make it worth his time to ship; hell, I was interested in the monoski too! I was trying to make/find connections to someone in Reno to get them for me if he wouldn't ship, but it was like 12 hours later and you had the score! Congrats!

Not a ski swap but a thrift store. Just scored some 192 Solly rockers mounted with STH 16s for $10 yesterday. Couldn't fucking believe it, a buddy tipped me off. Rusty edges and bases but otherwise looking decent.

great score! I'll take that monoski off you if you decide to dump it. it's a good excuse (to me) for wearing alpine boots. super fun to ski.
