EAST COAST ROLL CALL #9 Find the time to ski those lines!

Hey guys, just checking in after a week up in the nord-est. Condish are still very good up there and worthy of a spring trip. Looks like they are getting about another foot today. Rain's a comin though.

Had an exceptional week with a really awesome Can-Am crew.

Glad to see some stoke still flowing in here.

Sorry to hear about the Cannon incident. Vibes.

22` bob 1 1/8" of snow with light flurries and very gusty winds. All [well the 3 that could run] lifts currently on wind hold. Looks fairly shitty out there.

Bummer about the loss of Phalls old school buddy.

I spite of it being a shitty ski season, Sugaring season if off the chain this year (at least in places cold enough to avoid trees starting to bud). My neighbor is actually running out of wood to burn in his arch.

Yep. At least 6", although quad side was mostly blown away or wind rippled. Gondi side stayed miraculously mostly wind free.

    Stowe was really good yesterday.

Quad was the best IMO in hte trough line of bumps. Upper National was deep.

Finished out around 2" at my house although the wind made it hard to tell. I had anything from 0" to 8" deposits and now most of the lawn is bare. bush reported 70+ mph wind gust top of Bravo so the summit must have hit 85-90. No doubt 7" of wind transport in some areas as well as wind stripped zones. Skiing is good and quiet and with the midweek heatwave it will soon mank out.

A tractor you say! We're still using buckets for the neighbor's operation. Maybe some tubing next year.

48` bob Woke up to the "big wind" though it has calmed down in the last 20 min. or so.

Out for the last couple hours yesterday and found supa pasty snow down low and wet "powder" up high. Summit temp was 26` or so for the first 400' of vert. Poked around a bit and feel there was likely 7" of snow that was deposited, although it was gone in the open areas.
Saw some tracks coming out of woods that were bare on Sunday and a couple/ three in the stream bed near Lower Ripcord, good times.
Plenty of Frenchies around skiing with late 80's early 90's gear and outfits and some college dudes in costumes. What thought process is used for a 20 yo dude to don a tutu for a ski day?
97% of the snow has melted from my yard including where I shoveled piles. Leeward aspects still holding strong.

Went to tremblant and crushed some zipper lines and cans o beer in the soft snow with rudeness. The pasty pow was for real up there in the trees, not that it matters with the 50mm of rain forecasted, but I was really impressed by the amount of snow and terrain left. Looking up at the upper half on the southern exposure:

the mountain definitely has flat spots, and I almost never go there because of the cost and the crowds, but those two runs you see that form a Y are pretty steep bump runs. Good day with Pat and ml242, i'm burnt!
