Tons of cool stuff. In addition to the Lange tech boots, some of the standouts are a Pebax K2 Pinnacle, a Grilamid/PU Atomic Hawx, Carbon Flax weave in Salomon's new big mountain QST skis, Carbon Basalt weave in the new Rossi "S" skis, Dynafit TLT7, Tecnica dedicated touring boot, etc.

It seems that "progress" in touring boots is all about taking a high performance last and making it just a little higher volume with every iteration. Great for shop fit and minimal fussing for those who don't know how a boot is supposed to feel or ski, but the options are becoming fewer for those of us that don't have hobbit feet.

New Cochise/Zero G last is not necessarily narrower in the heal but it has a lot more anatomical shape in the heal and ankle. The biggest difference is the fit around the front of the ankle. The shell is much much closer to that part of the foot. This last is the most anatomical last on the market, alpine or backcountry. I think people will be amazed how well it fits a wide range of feet. If it needs to be modified it is just about the easiest boot to work on out there. Traditional overlap design with CAS boot board, liner, and shell makes it a breeze to punch, grind, etc.

So...zero g with pro tour liner weight? I wonder if you save anything? Historically stock Cochise liners are underwhelming. Is this one an upgrade/worth using?

Do the same old sole blocks work with the new gen?

From first glance looks to me like the new cochise has sole blocks that work with tech and din/standard alpine bindings.
Is that true? If so, are those toe blocks available for older models of cochise boots?

Zero G Guide Pro has a new Palau liner. Much better than one in pro light.

No more sole blocks. Just replaceable soles. Zero G models, Cochise 120 130 Women's Cochise Pro come with tech fittings in the lower shell not in a interchangeable sole block.

You can have tech with DIN, Rockered AT, or a new WTR type sole.

Yup you just have to put the DIN sole on to ski it in any Regular alpine binding...

All Marker Royal Series bindings will have a wider ranging AFD that will accommodate both AT (ISO 9523) and Alpine (ISO 5355) soles - not sure if the Jester Pro is included.

the fischer boot has a boa, but the scarpa F1 boa is totally different as it works on an asymmetrical tongue as the maestrale and the TX boots... fischer boa works like in a climbing boot

Flat ISO 5355 shaped soles with tech fittings - K2 had a good idea all along. Next year K2, Tecnica, Dalbello, soon everyone (and Look will just shut up about it not meeting ISO 5355 specs).

Color me intrigued... 117 underfoot and would not be surprised Mac had a say in its development... I will def keep an eye out for this one as more info is released... I grew up riding Volkls both for fun and racing and absolutely loved them... The stuff they have been coming out with lately I have not been a fan of at all and only liked the 191 metal Katana...
