I've never seen asian fit helmets before

Bumping this to see if anyone has any experience with these in larger sizes. Are they a totally different shape or just bigger?

Backstory: I've worn Smith goggles and helmets for years and love them. We have a pro-deal through work and they are a great company and awesome to work with and generous in their pro-deals, never had a bad experience. So I order a new Vantage to replace my old Smith ski helmet and order a large because I have a huge head and it's their biggest size. It's also the same size as my new smith bike helmet I ordered not but 6 months ago and both helmets list the same measurements for head circumference. Put the ski helmet on and it's so tight my head is aching after a minute, forget fitting a skullcap or balaclava under it.

Why the inconsistent sizing? Will an asian fit be better for my large but caucasian shaped head? They list one color of the standard fit Vantage (sage I think) as coming in extra large but don't list that size for any other colors. Plus the asian fit doesn't have all the same colors as the standard and this is Aspen and I have a certain image. So now I'm stuck with a helmet I can't return and I'm not sure if I should try the bigger asian fit helmets or say "Fuck You Smith" until they can figure out more consistent sizing across helmets?

just leave in room overnight ...they regenerate babies...some grow bigger, look how many i have now since 2015....avoid menthol tho....

Pretty sure from one big domer to another that they have a XL. It fits my head where the L did not.

For my skull, even an XXL Giro didn't fit. Squoze the sides of my noggin like the thread-bumper described...

Unfortunately , I’ve found that if you are at the upper end of size ranges , there’s a huge difference in how an L fits across brands and even across models of the same brand. The G9 in xl will do you, I have one, but for anything else I have to try it on.

Yeah, that's what's frustrating, and I should have known better being big and tall. They make an extra large in a few of the basic colors (black, white, sage) but I ordered the large in a different color since my bike helmet is a large and fits perfectly. Now I gotta get a whole new outfit to match my new helmet color.

I also got a Boeri XXL that I had to carve some foam out of but the Giro G9 in XL fits the best

IME with the fat head I really have to try any helmet on to see if it fits, no fuckigjn way i would just order a helmet unless there were free returns which is never up here

SO every 5 years or so I find a helmet in a store that fits and i buy it

I have a non MIPS L/XL Mission helmet because the MIPS version was too tight.
