    Binding mounting question

What would you consider a safe distance to drill new screw holes from the old ones? I'm putting different bindings on motherships, but the front toe piece holes are real close to where the new ones go. Also how far back from center is to much, to avoid the old holes?

Go forward. I believe the mark on that ski is not core center, but Line's recommend mounting point. I would rather be forward a bit (ie. more aggressive position--I like it especially since I tend towards the backseat--and good for switch stuff). Ideally, the center of each binding hole would be at least 1 cm or more apart. Can be closer if ski has metal topsheet.

How far foward would be optimum? 1cm? 2?

That's up to you. Make sure you're avoiding the previous holes. If you are using these for mainly all-mountain and powder, I would go only as far forward as you need to clear the old holes(1cm maybe). Go further if you want the ski to ski better fakie. (2-3 cm maybe).

I have been taught that you only need 1cm between holes for them to be "structurally sound" If that helps at all.

Thanks for all the info, I'm going to mount them 1.5 cm forward just to be safe and fill the old holes with epoxy.
