That does look wonderful! Comfort food is the best.

Oh man was that risotto good. Savory! Would go great with venison or pheasant.

I so love winter squash season.

Late night working from home on a project. Decided to make an attempt at sauerbraten. I'm missing a little bit of the spice profile and it's a little more gravy like than I'd like but not bad for a naive attempt. Click image for larger version.

Thing #1 was gifted with a big 'ol pile of very nice Coho and Sockeye so some smoking happened. Got to keep half for my troubles.

I know. I went through a phase where I owned one too. The reality of it is that anything a crock pot can do, an ECI dutch oven in the oven can do better.

Not enough, tried putting some gin in to help though. I think I needed cloves or something? And a friend would say I needed the gingerbread from aachen but that's just being overly picky

Simmered minute steaks tonight. Buying a cow has really opened up my beef recipe horizons.

Those look good. I've completely defaulted to Aaron Franklin's [smoked] ribs recipe.

Best and simplest one yet, and I end up with pork skirt steaks as an added bonus.

Man cooking nearly took over with a marinade of stale beer and dort crumb powder on chicken, but divine intervention provided a tenderloin.

But I just couldn't bring out the grilling umbrella tonight, so did the raging pan sear oven broil mechanism and it was ok.
