Just an easy summer dinner, farmers market produce abundant, and a little Chassagne Montrachet.

So I got this nest thing to put it in. A nut that holds that thing together came off and when I was moving it the wheel got hung up on the slab concrete separating two slabs.

The nut pulled off and separated the nest and the whole egg came slipping out forward. So that nest nut failed and allowed enough play in that platform to let the egg slip forward. That thing is heavy as fuck and when I tried to hold it it slid down and hit the ground. And shattered into the pieces seen.

Pretty odd and fucked up. I don’t even know if I explained it well. But now I have a call in to their warranty department to see if they’ll warranty the base. Otherwise I can get a new one for $450. Ouch.

Big green egg made and sold the nest. All very weird cuz I have to explain that that product malfunctioned to explain the egg itself falling and cracking.

I liken it to a binding malfunction or design flaw. Like the marker kingpin. I’ll deal with warranty and maybe if this isn’t such a unique thing and it happens they may know that and warranty it. Still it’s fucked up but I can’t help being pissed about spending another $450. That’s a lot of hookers and blow

$450 is a "lot of hookers and blow"? You apparently get street girls and crappy cut up coke if $450 is a "lot".

Sorry about the egg, I'd be so mad

For $450 I can get a gummy from trixie, enough meth not to be able to figure out whether s(he)’s a trannie and use the cracked egg as my bidet in my Bronx one step walk up.

FWIW - Big green egg customer service is amazing they seemed to understand and appreciate what happened although he said that was the first he’d ever heard of it happening. They warrantied a replacement caster and the entire bottom part of the green egg.

Just a quick shoutout for them and now I’ll GTFO of the cooking thread.

High quality raw wahoo, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, fresh herbs, good olive oil, and salt, it would appear.

Almost any fresh fish will do
    Fluke
    Stripe bass
    Scallops
    Black Sea bass
    Kampachi
    Hamachi
    Tuna
I would not use oily fish like salmon
Great olive oil and salt like Fleur de Sel is the key to any great dish

Frittata: Bacon, Red Onion, Spinich, Tomato, zucchini, and Cheddar. For whatever reason, I'd never made a frittata before. This won't be my last.
