Interesting. I'm not a spirits person, but that opens a lot of cool doors. How long is the infusion?

    I don’t know

I’m not a spirits person either

but I’m trying to make it for someone

I think I will do 24-48 hours of lemon peel and dill and strain it

then add the herbs and let it go a month

Cool. I would think longer is better, but I have no clue. Have a fun one tomorrow. Stay off the power tools.

aquavit is all about the anise and other seeds

the dill and lemon infusion is first, but it’s secondary

I regularly make limoncello. Peels (no pith) from 5 lbs of lemons, soak in 500ml of Everclear, 200ml of vodka. 30 days minimum, strain and add 50ml simple syrup. It gets better if you let it go longer, but quite nice at 30 days.

I’m envisioning you standing on your chair at the head of the table fending off the hungry hoards trying to get at it

    ETA: ^^^ Very nice larilesign!
our holiday rental's shitty electric (I know that is redundant) stove was a bit touchy on oil temps but plate sized schnitzels were delivered to the thanksgiving table per tradition. Pretty sure our condo neighbors were not happy about the incessant meat pounding heh

Of course you were. So you didn't take the photo, you just owned it.

Did you get consent? And how many fake likes did you get on the gram for it?

Be honest. Try for once. Answer the questions, or GTFO.

Dry AF. I did this, not to be confused with trying to meld traditions. I just wanted that, cut in half in a sammi last week. Like I have done for 2.8 decades.

Chaka: life changing, look up kenji's method of booze soaking. It changed my game on the breading. Thank me later. SERIOUSLY. I will edit to post it.

Any strong booze works. Game changing. Doesn't change the flavor, just science.

aquavit (L) and elderberry liqueur (R) - these are practice units - I’m also going to make some of each to age for next year - we’ll see how she likes these - I don’t drink the stuff
