And they are spectacular! Skin comes off in almost one piece and the flesh falls right off the pit. So juicy you can practically drink from them - didn't need syrup on those waffles. I'm going to cry when they are gone.

Is your mug always that enormous or is it just really excited about those waffles?

I think the suggested oil temp of 330f was just about right. Not very complicated but it does create a mess in the kitchen. Though battered anything tends to have that effect, especially in my small kitchen.

Sorry its a bit ad heavy but oh well. Went with Kaesespaetzle as the side, that didn't come out as well because, due to an unexpected wait, I had to let the cooked noodles sit for a while before putting them in the fry pan. Still good though.

Hot damn! I have a schnitzel recipe now. Yum!
Had to make them again last night.

Kids requested some meaty red sauce a couple days ago. Beef, pork, garlicky goodness.

Did some pork char siu on the smoker yesterday. 8 lbs of pork butt, rubbed with salt, brown sugar and Chinese five spice powder overnight, then smoked at 225 degrees for about 6 hours and finally glazed with char siu sauce a few times in the last hour of cooking. I cut the butt into smaller pieces so that there was more bark, since that's really the best part. Served with fluffy Chinese buns, hoisin sauce and pickled cucumbers for make-your-own pork buns. Did not suck.

Anyone know what these peppers are? We planted them, but I can’t remember what they are. They aren’t spicy, sort of shishito like.
