Leftover roasted asparagus & zucchini, potato salad. Re-roasted with more S&P, garlic, a random tomato. Mixed with a can of cannellini beans. Pureed for a dip/spread.

Basically a baba ganoush without eggplant.

Tomato with chunked up arugula. Juice of half a lime. S&P. Yard chives & basil.

Paneer, mozzarella, pecorino. French bread. Toasted or not.

    Assemble to taste.

slightly elevated cholesterol has necessitated a Mediterranean diet approach. So yeah it tastes great and my cholesterol will go down but my blood pressure will go up because of all the salt...Click image for larger version.

Cinnamon - lamb - roasted tomatoes are a winning group.

That’s mirepoix. Holy trinity is celery, green bell pepper and onion...a Cajun/Creole thing

speaking of mirepoix, I made this the other night: Braised country style pork ribs

No pics (and it wasn't a "pretty" meal anyway) but it was really fucking good. Served it over cauliflower mash (not the polenta in the recipe, because keto).

Chinese feast last night - Lamb stirfried with cumin, chiles and Sichuan peppercorns, and pork/shrimp dumplings in a Sichuan chili and vinegar sauce. (Also, a brussels sprouts salad someone else brought.) Sooo full afterwards but soooo good.

If your Bolognese makes you butt hurt, you are doing it wrong.

    I missed that whole discussion.

    But yeah. Bolognese rules.

Pro-tip: make sure chicken livers are a part of any recipe you *do* happen to use for bolognese.

Quick beef stir fry with a black pepper sauce. Between the pepper, sambal, and chili oil it has just enough heat that you can feel it in the back of your throat.

Most of the veggies came from the garden.

Pasta with acorn squash, kale and sausage with a sage and garlic brown butter sauce. I’m so glad my kid enjoys this sort of stuff.

Tonight Coq Au Vin will be on the menu in the Glade household.

Pro tip: putting your bacon in the freezer for 20-30 minutes before slicing makes it much easier to cut into lardons.

The AC kind of an experiment. I didn't have any cheddar and I wanted some other flavor than just mozzarella. I thought it was actually pretty good.
