I did orzo last night with a turkey stock that I turned into a sweet onion soup. Grated some oaxacan cheese in the bottom for a french kiss. So good.

Red curry soup with chicken and eggplant. Should I add a dollop of sour cream or not?

Tonight’s meat trio: (clockwise from top left) prime NY strip, ribeye, filet. All smoked with apple/maple wood for about an hour at 225, then seared in a ripping hot cast iron skillet. Didn’t last long 🤤

Shakshuka for breakfast. Haven't heard of it? Neither had I, but it's awesome and easy.

Chop up half an onion, some green pepper, celery, green onion, garlic and hot peppers. Fry in olive oil, adding some cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper later on. Once soft, add in a can (~14oz) of crushed tomato. When the tomato begins to simmer carve out a couple gaps in the mix and crack open an egg into each one. Add a couple spoonfuls of water and cover to poach the eggs. Once egg is firm to touch, sprinkle feta cheese and chopped parsley and cilantro over top, and it's done.

Bone-in sausage tomato soup. Onion, celery, garlic, carrot, salt, oregano. It’ll sit on the wood stove all day and melt together. Hopefully I can get some of the marrow out of the bone.
