    New John Prine

If you like John Prine, go get his newest album "Fair and Square".

It was released last Tuesday, 4/26.

I would put this album in my top ten of 2005.

Here is a verse from the song "Taking a Walk":

I wish you could have been there
    When she opened the door
And looked me in the face
    Like she never did before
    I felt about as welcome,
    As a Wal-Mart Superstore

    Classic Prine!

    Classic Prine!
after meeting you and agreeing that this album ( which i have heard only snippets of) is a gem,
what is the rest of your 2005 list?
    Beck's new one?
    The boss?
    the Justin Timberlake remixes?

Woodsy, let me think about this top ten list further. I know John Prine would be on there, but I need need to look at when some of the things that I have been listening to and liking, actually came out.

I have the new Springsteen and while it is pretty good, I'm not sure if it would make it on my top ten list. A couple of the songs are really good, but I find myself skipping over others. I actually went to the store to get the new Springsteen and then saw John Prine and ended up with both. The two are similar in feel, but I think that the Prine album is better overall.

going to see Prine tomorrow in Northampton MA. Saw him several years ago. Have loved his songwriting since high school (long time ago).

    Pretty stoked.

    Hang in there John

    #repost @fprine
    ・・・
This is John’s 8th day in ICU . He is receiving excellent medical care and being treated with kindness and compassion by the entire team looking after him day and night.
I cannot be with him which makes this nightmare all the more distressing for me.
As you know, John was put on a ventilator last Saturday. He still needs quite a bit of help with his breathing. Like many patients currently in ICU beds all around the world, John has pneumonia in both lungs. He has also developed some peripheral issues that are being treated with meds, including antibiotics.
He is very ill and yet I remain hopeful that he can continue to fight this devastating virus and come home where we can care for him.
I don’t have the words to adequately Thank You all for the outpouring of love and prayers that John and our family has received this last week. It means the world to us to have your love and support at this difficult time.
On behalf of me and our boys- Jody Jack and Tommy - please know that we are keeping you all in our hearts with a prayer that you stay safe and healthy. Please continue to send Love, Prayers and Positive Energy to John. He needs us now more than ever.John loves you and I love you too.❤️

Man I saw this bump and my heart fell - I knew he was on a ventilator and I figured he had died. Glad to hear I was wrong. Hope he hangs in there.

This was recorded just over 2 years ago, it's worth a listen. Hope he gets some more of that meatloaf soon.

And not that weird considering Bacon has been playing music for years with his brother...

Thx for posting. I tried to find a YouTube version and failed.

    It’s a cool tribute.

Fuck. Knew it was bad, but shit.

I loved John Prine. A mag from the old TTips turned me on to him 20 years ago. He is (or was) Telepariah or something on here. Charlie from CO, I believe. Thanks, dude. And thanks, JP.

Was telling some one the other day his debut album was and is, just quality all the way through fucking timeless songs as old as I am and still holds up and he just kept doing it at that level for damn near 50 years.
