I know everyone is wetting the bed with the heavy heavy dusting going on right now in the Tahoe area...but I'm surprised I haven't heard more about the Mt. Rose sale and proposed purchase effort.

Here's an article about a group of folks trying to buy Rose and "keep it local" or whatever. http://www.sierrasun.com/news/busine...ose-ski-tahoe/

Anyone know anything about these benevolent humans saving Rose from Vail Corp?? I mean, "Keeping Rose Local". One Reno? https://www.facebook.com/oneRenoMtRo...SEARCH&fref=nf

If Reno is willing to spend millions of dollars on a semi-pro baseball team, maybe the municipality could spend some money on a viable business that brings tourists to the area and creates revenue for the city.

The "Ruin & Rose" film is coming up fast! Oct. 1st. (at Squaw Valley - OVI)
This will be a good time AND a fundraiser for the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance.
If you would consider doing a little promotion, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Best,
    Rich Meyer

Join us at Olympic Valley Lodge for the Tahoe premiere of 'Ruin and Rose" ( MSP Film!) on Saturday October 1st at 7pm.
Acclaimed writer/director Ben Sturgulewski joins the award-winning team at Matchstick Productions and their two decades of filmmaking expertise to deliver “RUIN AND ROSE,” an epic creative vision brought to life by the talents of the world’s top skiers. Winter landscapes across the planet contrast seamlessly with a thoroughly-crafted story of environmental apocalypse, shot entirely within the incredible expanses of Africa’s otherworldly Skeleton Coast. Unlike anything seen before, the dreamlike setting of this film sparks the imagination of not only action sports enthusiasts, but anyone with a beating heart.
Buy your tickets early at Tahoe Dave's, cost $15.00. This is an all ages event.
Come early for good seats and a killer raffle benefiting the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance.

Random question while it's still dry ...

I'm looking to collect lots of small to medium sized, symmetric looking pinecones for a project. Think a 2-3 grocery bags worth of golf-ball to coffee mug sized cones. Anyone know of some good spots between East Bay and SLT along HWY50?

I bet the trail around Jenkinson Lake might have what you're looking for. Seems like I recall that from BITD when we had XC races around it.

More often than not I left the POV camera at home but I brought it out enough times to make myself a 15/16 season edit. Maybe some of you will enjoy it also, here is hoping for at least another average winter, forgot just how good average can be!

TahoeBC you hit a few lines last season. Nice edit.

Tough to say good bye to such a great "average" season, but its time . . .

Thanks to Tahoe BC for showing me around, also Vets, Powdork, Spats, everyone posting, here's to another fine season whatever it may bring.

Now looking for a new ski lease. The one we were going to join had some issue with us not wanting to be hotboxed all the time?

Any leads on spots for 1-3 in South Lake/Meyers would be great. $1000-1500 range or $2000 for couples with half of each couple coming once a month.

We all live in the Bay Area. I suppose I can bum couches and spare beds all winter but only have three dedicated friends and the housing market is about to get really thin.

You might want to post this in the new thread. That one seems to be getting the eyeballs.
