Position: Executive Director – Friends of the Chugach Avalanche Information Center
The primary function of the Executive Director (ED) is to promote the mission and strategic goals of the 501(c)3 organization through the implementation of the Primary Duties and Budget & Finance responsibilities listed below. The ED reports directly to the Board of Directors and works with the President of the Board to maintain transparent and consistent communication with all Board Members.

Primary Duties
- Manage and expand current sources of funding, including our events and outreach, major donors, sponsorships, grants, and collaboration with supporting foundations
- Ensure compliance with 501(c)3, federal, state and local requirements through the maintenance of official records, documents, tax, insurance, and budget obligations
- Inform the board on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing its success
- Work closely with the Director of Chugach Avalanche Information Center (CNFAIC) to ensure clear and consistent communication between both organizations
- Pursue and promote working relationships and cooperative agreements with the Forest Service, corporate sponsors, and the community at large
- Publicize the activities, programs, and goals of the organization
- Promote and expand current education and outreach programs and events

Budget & Finance Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a board approved yearly budget for our organization, and fully comply with current laws and regulations
- Maintain detailed budgets for outreach events to be evaluated annually by the board
- Provide reports at each Board meeting concerning current financial and donor information

Hours for this part time position are highly flexible, with the bulk of the Friends of the Chugach Avalanche Information Center’s important work happening between September and April.

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and value to the organization.
