You may have more fun skiing Castle proper if the snow is good than some low angle cat show.

Your 100% correct, IF, there's good snow. I've skied one day at Castle and it's a great mountain. Just want to increase the odds that we ski some pow. Nothing worst than flying out of Toronto to find the resorts are nothing but hard pack and ice. Hopefully it's not 2 flat, that would suck

    2015/2016 Canadian Rockies Thread

Looking at all the deals in Calgary costco. Guess price wise it is as good as it gets? Definitely better than liftopia.

What about getting the costco tickets online? I should get to KH and revvie in three weeks but I dont want to buy the tickets yet. Looks like I either have to come back to calgary or go to kamloops and turn back.

Well, I think I finally had my gear set right for skiing and was on the sled toward the line at 10:30 or 11, so not that long. Other than a couple sections skinning facetted pillows and a couple shoulder deep facet holes on the bootpack, the climbing was good conditions and pretty quick. Seems I timed it just right, rain to 1200m for the forseeable future (that line's steep enough down to 950 or 900m elevation, bottom is just 30m higher than Golden). Bring on the pineapples, I'll just go higher

Haha yeah, haven't used those for a couple years. Too much ski for me honestly. Even more so in mounatineery places where ice kung fu might be required.

Oh, and snow turning to rain in town currently.

Speaking of sledding, I may need to get in touch with you about that around the golden area for skiable lines or lapping terrain. Let me know if your up for a conversation.

The new snow and cold Temps on the upper mountain are still not skiing well?

Does the lower mountain soften up in the afternoon, at least?

Supposed to go out that way tomorrow.

It's good, new snow and wind deposited on top of the crust, I was just hoping for softer, but I'm picky like that. Funny enough, the low hanging fruit is providing the goods.

IMHO it's too flat (I toured a bit in their cat terrain). I would save money and stick to the hill.

How's Marmot skiing? I'm in Hinton for the next 10 weeks not working and thinking about getting their mini midweek pass. They don't normally do spring passes, right?

At louise today, foot of wind filled stiff pow on the back. Er 6/7 and white horn were skiing awesome. Front is a hard crust under 8 inches

Was out of town all weekend so didn't get up to Marmot this week but it was skiing OK last week. No spring pass usually but stop in at the office and see what they will do for you.
Move along nothing to see here.
