Yeah... you know you all complain about how much of "your shit* you lose when you get divorced, and I suppose sometimes it might seem unfair but usually one partner in a marriage ends up sacrificing their career for the sake of the other partners and/or the children.
My mom quit college to move with my dad, and quit good jobs over and over to move for his career and to have babies and then she either didn't work or worked jobs that were more about still being able to take care of a family than advance a career, not that there were a lot of opportunities for career advancement in the rural area we lived in...
On top of that, she ran the house. She pretty much did everything.
They never divorced, but if they had, she would have been entitled to a lot.
The person in the relationship whose career has been favored (usually the man, but not always anymore) gets to carry on making the same pay and begin rebuilding right away, where often time the other has to restart their career, starting at the bottom...

That is not funny. Maybe your daughter won't end up a stripper, maybe she will live in a trailer park with bleached blond hair and a continual stream of black eyes.

I'm really sad that DBass claims to have put me on ignore. I think I'll go cry or eat worms or something.

Wow another good thread derailed.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Kids don't ruin marriages. They bring stress and greater commitments, which is to say they widen fissures that already existed and may have remained small cracks if no major stressors had otherwise been introduced.
