Never miss a Sunday show. 6/18/17 has shown that this band can provide surprises that even this embittered Head can enjoy.

Both sets are up on YouTube.

Oteil on FOTM was really good, and the tempo was perfect. I'm heading to SPAC tomorrow. Any one have an extra pavilion ticket?

Listening to the 2nd set now. For me there is still just something off with JM voice in this whole thing. It would almost be better if they threw in some funky covers of other tunes instead of staple dead/dead covers for the entire show.

Bobby is still pretty strong for 69. Impressive.

^^fair enough. his singing seems less important when in the pit and ones brain is firing on all cylinders. The jams are thick and soupy

Apparently Bobby still can't get Truckin' straight.

The acoustic Dark Star -> Ripple gave me chills.

Maybe it's just me but it seems they are repeating a lot of songs. How many shows get a BEW and Cassidy? Don't get me wrong, I love those songs, but I'd love to hear some other stuff too. I have liked the Help->Slip->??? that they've been doing.

Ok maybe they have a pretty good repertoire. http://www.setlist.fm/stats/dead-and...17+Summer+Tour

No doubt! Woulda been right there with you. Did you get a deal on pit tics? That is the only way to enjoy their show in Fenway imo. Way to make it happen. I guess I pussed out!

^^bought them the day tix went on sale, 'bout 160 ea with all the fees. A few years back I paid $95 to see Clapton in Boston and resigned myself to the reality of modern ticket pricing for big shows.

Worthy show last night in Bristol VA. 1st set kicked out with Shakedown , UJB, Minglewood, a great Althea followed by a great Peggy O, Bertha, Man/Woman

2nd set highlight was a killer FOTM and Throwing Stone into US Blues

Perfect weather. Everyone meshed and Oteil really has it together, nice to see him in action again

^^listening to it now, Uncle John's is pretty thick. killer setlist.

SPAC was fun but didn't seem to have the punch they did on Sunday, I don't care if I ever hear a Bob Weir fronted band play Watchtower again. Bummer of it was I didn't even have to go to the bathroom when they started it.

Second set really trailed off and lost momentum for sure.

If you went to the bathroom you could've seen the double rainbow, which was cool.

$17 founders tall boys sucked too.

My son was offered every drug under the sun, which was weird, but cool because we got to get it all out in the open. The guy in front of us tried to pass him a joint about 5 times. ( he's 16 ), so... yeah.

I'll never go to spac without pavilion tix again.

    Dead and Company.

SPAC was so all over the place. I had a blast, some hillbilly hippies from Tennessee, puddled me with some super clean liquid, during Bucket. The highlights were an incredible Looks Like Rain, it really was on point. the China Cat>Deal was awesome. Then the wheels fell off! Terrapin was brutal, and as stated above, Watchtower was one of the worst things I've ever heard live. Rider closer was hot, but the crowd was done by that point. The ride home was killer, XM was playing a full show from '73, which was perfect for my head space!
