I think I’ve nailed down the issue.

After listening to that Shakedown on my dog walk just now I've reaffirmed my issue with this band. Fun to be at one of their shows, close to zero appeal listening to recordings of shows.

Billy + Billy @ Red Rocks blows this band away for my ears, I think I've listened to their Who cover a dozen times

James Casey singing My Sisters and Brothers made me cry. I admit it.

I gotta say, LTGTR thu Big Rail from the NY DeadCo show was excellent. Figured I’d test it out. Real fine. Shit went downhill from there imo. Didn’t finish the show tho.

Any idea if they’ve played LTGTR before? Don’t remember seeing it in any setlists.

Bristow on Wednesday was a good time. Liberty kicked, as did Cumberland Blues, and a long Black Peter was a surprise. Great crowd, went with another couple with good seats, and my 17 year old and her friend did the lawn, she’s a convert now, dug the community aspect of the show.

Please tell me the times at the top and bottom of Set 1 and top of Set 2 are written after the fact and not a schedule.

I have a 2 tickets for each Mansfield MA show that it seems like I'm not going to be able to use. Anyone looking?

I honestly cannot get why people go to Dead and Co. Like at all. It's a disservice to the music at this point IMO. I will see The Quintet (best GD related band since Jerry died), Billy and The Kids, or JRAD before I go to Dead and Slow.

I'll put it this way.....none of the people I know who actually go to their shows are musicians.

    I’m with you.

I like the Bob and Wolf Brothers stuff but not DeadCo.

I also don’t really like Phish and I never really did.

Billy was under the weather and couldn't play red rocks last night so they called Jay Lane out of the bullpen. I'm guessing he just smoked a bunch of indica to get the tempos down and was good to go

Now I’m hearing Billy wasn’t sick. His shows with Billy & The Kids were so lit he couldn’t face red rocks with deadnco.

Stay safe and Be Well Billy!

Bill Kreutzmann took to Instagram to share with fans that he will not be performing with Dead & Company during Playing In The Sand, their two-weekend festival down in Cancun, Mexico on Jan. 7-10 and Jan. 13-16. The drummer stated he decided to sit out the shows after a doctor’s note advised him to rest his recovering heart following his health issues in the fall.
Kreutzmann kept things light, writing, “After a lifetime of playing special beats, it’s almost no wonder that my heart came up with its own idea of rhythm.” He also expressed his sorrow in not being able to play but gave fans hope saying that after January he expects to be back in full force.

    Dead and Company.

John Mayer on the Covid reserve list, Tom Hamilton subbing for him along with Jay Lane.

Might have to give one of these resort shows a listen

Edit: they finally wised up and put the thing out of it’s misery

Heard they had to wait until right before the event to get insurance $. Honestly I don’t blame them. Sounds like some folks got a free vaca and the rest got the cash back. Right call IMO. But…it would have been fantastic to see Hamilton play with the guys. Hell, wouldn’t mind seeing him play with Mayer there. Weir could strum his weird shit and the other two rip it up.
