Unfortunately no. We always offer our dog sitter the choice of staying in our house, she never takes us up on it. This weekend she decided she wanted to stay there, go figure.
I just saw the Jeff Austin Band and the Traveling McCourys play an entire set of the Dead, bluegrass style. It was sweet."fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

Been following a friend on FB who has been following D&C all spring. She seems to be having a great time.
When the Fare Thee Well shows came out and I heard them it was pretty much "yeah, sorry I will remember the shows I went to and be good with that".
Watching some of Jesse's smartphone footy, the sets and music sounds pretty tight. It ain't the Grateful Dead but they don't pretend to be.
The ummmmmm D&C-heads??? that's another story. (Damn but people look stupid dancing in still photos)

Chimenti's lead from Space into Days Between tonight WAS the Grateful Dead.

I like Bobby's take on Days more than Jerry's. Jerry was always mumble mouthing that tune. Bobby enunciates every word. Good stuff. I'm thinking about SPAC, anyone? Oh yeah, 1/2 Step from last night was killer.

Whatever. It's a cover band.
Let me lock in the system at Warp 2
Push it on into systematic overdrive
You know what to do

Dead and Company.
Nope. Sure isn't but I still dig it! I've come to realize, I don't want or need "it" to be the Grateful Dead. That part of the journey ended in '95.
I saw SLC and both Boulders. Honestly, the morning after the SLC show I turned to the guy I was headed to boulder with and said...."are we really doing this shit again?" (Traveling from venue to venue)
SLC had me down. (Disclaimer- the company was superb as always. Thx Teleee. We will do it again! ) The band, from my perspective, was not good that night. Sets were uninspiring for me too. Didn't want to waste the miles on the car, time way from my family and a five day hall pass from my Wife to drive down the road.
Well, I was glad I did. I had a blast at the Boulder shows. We both left thinking this band has it. It ain't the Grateful Dead and it shouldn't be! It's nice to see the old boys play with passion again. Anyway, the music in Boulder gave a perma grin for two nights and certainly got me groovin'. Not the GD but that's ok by me.
They had a free stream of the ATL show last night. Probably still up. I was too wiped to watch. Sets looks great.
Edit: I watched/listened to the first set at ATL at the office this morning. Scarlet - shakedown was cool. Other than that, set one was just ok in my book. Probably a damn fine time there tho.Last edited by schwerty; 06-14-2017 at 01:14 PM.

^ unimpressed with atl, but probably simply due to song selection. Scarlet shakedown was nice, as was playin uncle john terripin, but that's about it. Mags was nice. to the point, if they are from the 80s and back, hell even 90s, they are a cover band. That's the rule. not the exception. and it's still fun.
