My wife was raised that way and her first car had to be a stick. Sh intends to keep our 2017 Alltrack 6sp another 15yrs so the the babies can learn on a stick and she can drive the thing into the ground. I don't think a VW, even with the improved quality, will make it. But maybe we can replace it with one last manual car/wagon in a few years before they go extinct.

Shit, well I guess we better plan on it - the boys came home in the Alltrack!
She's got the right taste, no doubt. An 850R/V70R has always been one of my lusts and growing up in N Seattle they were prevalent. A good friends parents in Ballard had/have? an '06 R in Titanium Gray that we all drooled over in HS. My friend got the hand me down cherry red 850 T-5 as his first car when the R arrived in the garage.

Cool kid stoke. Glad to hear that shifting ain’t dead yet.
Other than driving for real, I really like how it’s harder to text and drive with a stick.. . .

Classic sled of fond memories rolling from Portland to SLC in the mid 70s.

You two can duke it out. My money's on her, she's tough.
I'll assuage your losses with some scotch, a few bottles of wine and some mondo gourmandosizings.
Our estate is deftly seasoned with our vintage sleds, carefully beached in leafy alcoves or in our grandiose gravelled turnaround.
Our lawns are mostly car free except for the somewhat lumpy grass tennis court which occasionally harbors a voiture for a few days between the frequent and close hewings. After this weeks freshets I suspect I'll get out the roller and give the court a few passes to smooth over the winters wrinklings.
I do confess to a couple of old water heaters (lost another one this winter, it's been 14 years here) and the toilet I haven't had a chance to take to the dump since I got back.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

Oh she'd kick my ass for sure. But it might be worth it for the consolation imbibements.
Always dig the visits to your pad... understory surprises included.

So just about to pull the trigger on 2014 Jetta TDI Sportswagen. CPO. I have financing through CapitalOne, but letting the dealer run it as VW is running some deals right now so maybe I get a slightly better rate, otherwise I will stick to choice 1. I put a deposit on it, refundable. Black, 21K miles. 1 owner, no accidents, cherry. 2year unlimited miles bumper to bumper, then some extended crap due to dieselgate. only has the 16" alloys though, but I wasnt spending another 3K for those. All in $13K.
Hope I can get her in the next few days.
