How would you rate the VW Alltrack compared to the Outback in the comfort department?

    Wagon Stoke

Outback is physically bigger in almost every way, if that matters to your comfort

That said, I like VW fit/finish

We drove an Outback before getting my wife an Alltrack. Iíll give the Suby credit for capability and size but itís terribly slow and just plain boring. Gutless 4 banger and a CVT? Snoooooooze.

Weíve got 3k on my wifeís Alltrack and its a perfect 4 season, fun to drive family car. With snow tires I donít hesitate to take it up and down the steepest roads in the middle of snow storms.

I just wish VW could combine the power train and plaid interior of my GTI and with the AWD wagon body. All track GTI. Are you listening VW?

Not really, because the seats suck. IMO. Lumbar hits too low on the back. Head rests are weird. The bucket is way to short under the thigh. Seats are also too firm. This is the fabric not leather.

Iím feeling that the VW being Euro not Japanese would probably mean the seats are a bit larger and more comfy.

I guess I was referring to space or clearances, not so much seat geometry

Iím a big guy so I tend to assume the seat itself isnít necessarily going to fit me, but head room, elbow room & leg room are all pretty critical

VW makes a lot of cool shit. US just doesn’t get those models. I want the Golf Estate R, so I guess I gotta move.

Bumping this because I've read a few articles about this new Buick:

The only drawbacks are the fact that it's a Buick and the price is a bit steep. It comes in at about $40k with options which puts it in CPO Allroad, 328i wagon territory.

Regardless, its ballsy of GM to jump into the wagon game.

Slap a Volvo emblem on the front and no one will know you’re driving a Buick

Slap an Opel emblem on the front and no one will know youíre driving a Buick

if you are patient, I think that opel wagon will depreciate quickly. i wish it had a touch more ground clearance

I checked out the Buick Tour X at last weekend's car show in Reno. It's big - nice size cargo area. The stupid plastic cladding doesn't look as bad in person as it does in photos. Interior is OK - comfortable enough, dashboard kinda basic, lots more cheap plastic than expected. Speedo etc gauges unusually small. Didn't drive one, but will sometime.

Same drive train on the base $30k MSRP version as on the top $42k version - 250hp turbo 4, 8A transmission. They all have AWD. Being GM, I expect this'll be available in a year with massive discounts and incentives. A mid tier trim at $35k MSRP, on sale at $28k, looks like a nice alternative to a Subaru.

Just bought a CTSV wagon with a six speed. Thing is a beast.

    Love that V60. I'm a Volvo guy.

Curious also about the interior volume. Came to the conclusion the present V60 is somewhat useless. V90 is awesome, but way above my price range, and with it being a Concierge/special-order-only model the used market won't be that deep.

There's some videos and pics from the release, and it's bigger than previous gen. for sure.

Me too. I need to see it in person. And like all Volvo's, do not buy the first years production, as it will have lots of kinks to work out.
