Thanks, my son bought one this week and anything I can give him advice-wise on what to look for will help. It is a sweet looking wagon. I'll post pictures soon (with my sweet 98 Outback for comparison)

That’s funny. I remember watching the video of him finding and buying that sled. You know it’ll be pretty mint.

As an aside there’s a neighbor of mine who has a really well kept 996 4S and a tight as all get out E63 Wagon in navy. Always complimented him on them as I walked the dog by.

Then one day I’m watching Porsche videos online and there’s Doug Demuro driving my neighbors cars. Apparently he’s his best friend.

I still think my neighbor has excellent taste in cars, just questionable taste in friends now.

You can still get those colors with AWD and a stick. Maybe not that exact model. But yeah, that is an awesome ride.

Going through receipts yesterday, I saw one for tires from summer 2018 when I put the tires on with 188k on the clock and now have 202k. That is 7k miles a year. No wonder the tires still have the DWS stamp in them.

I would love to own that car, but having all the spare cash invested makes that not likely. I will have to settle for a 2018 used V90cc once my savings is a bit fatter and if I ever get to drive much again.

Current wagon is an '11 Hyundai Elantra Touring GLS with 115,000 miles. (it was recommended on TGR). Never had any issues - other than changing brakes and rotors.

Going to look at a manual '07 Audi A3 with 155k miles tomorrow. Talk me out of it....or into it.

On the A3, 2.0 engine? If so hp fuel pump / cam lobe issues as well as carbon build up due to direct injection.

At what point do wagons become hatchbacks. This has to be getting close.

Would def be a fun car but hope you like to wrench. I am now the proud owner of a not quite running A4. God damn Audi plastics are about as shitty as BMW. Working my way through replacing a butt ton of plastic bits in both the engine bay and the interior. Haha.

The good news is that everything so far has been dirt freaking cheap.

Work on it yourself or prepare to go broke if you're paying a mechanic. If you're working on it yourself, they're shockingly cheap. But either way you better be scoring a smoking deal on a 13 year old Audi with high miles. If so, then rock on! Go for it!

Yeah, my big question with the Audi is why? They aren't stupendous to drive, and maintenance will be 2-5x the Hyundai cost
