Another sweet one. Not sure how this pricing pencils out.

That one's a repost. Guy must not have sold it back when I saw it for sale when I was shopping. Car appears to be in exceptional condition! Price is about right for a 2017 and features considering the mileage from what I've seen. There was a white one in rural Wyoming I was HEAVILY considering for $42K I believe but it had 40-something thousand miles and was loaded to the gills with features. Had those sweet "Designo" leather seats and the hand pinstriped wood. All the interior color combos I wanted too. Window sticker said something darn near $100K so the original owner who was selling it must've checked off like every box possible when ordering. Haha. It certainly set the bar, but I decided to save the 20 grand I did by going with a model 2 years older (and previous gen). Still. That wagon was a HELLUVA lot of car for the money.
Anyway, pricing checks out for sure, but being a European car and all and me being new to the brand, I decided I wanted to stick sub-60K in miles. Sweet ride either way, though.

How about some cargo stoke? Today, wife gave me the heads up that she heard the upright freezer we've been wanting from Costco was finally in stock. I was like "Yeah, lemme go buy one and then I'll go rent a truck real quick. OH NEVERMIND! We have the E350 now!!!"
With all that weight back there, the self-leveling rear air suspension got a work out I suspect. Got 'er done. With loads of room to spare. No truck required. Boom!

The bmw nSeries motors all have lots of leaks. The turbo has additional problems with hpfp, turbo wastegates, I'm sure you know the drill or have read about it.
The electrics on our e61 were atrocious. It was automotive whackamole. We also had an e91 for a shorter time that had the same xdrive drivetrain, engine, trans, etc. Was developing all the same engine issues at about the same mileage. It has some electrical issues, but not nearly as many as the e61.
If you sift through my posts I swore off any newer than 2005 w ever again. As I type this I sit in a 2009 128i. This car has power locks, power windows and a stereo, but that's about it. Basic basic basic. 6 speed manual too. Only reason I bought this car, is I have receipts from a respected local shop for ALL the major engine leaks.
The build quality on BMWs is not what it used to be. The merc w212 was better made than the BMWs of the same time.sigless.

With what I suspect is about the weight of a high school girl gymnast, I certainly hope the suspension isn’t being overly taxed.

About 3 pages ago we were talking about checking the dip stick during fueling, I was joking that I don’t know where the dipstick is on my car. I dicked around with the OBD the other day and found the oil level. So, what does the future hold for these vehicles with no way to manually check oil, much less work on them yourself?
I guess the last wave of cars I actively repaired i.e. radiators, shocks, water pump, alternator, cv’s, was 3rd gen Outback. Seems we will hit ages with newer cars that they just won’t pencil for professional repair and there’s no shade tree option any more? Thoughts?
I think I’m having a small vehicle crisis now that we added the little one to our family. I’m considering dropping either the Allroad or the Forester and adding a Eurovan Westy and a Defender 90. - Both of which I could work on.

Good to know. If I keep the Allroad and it becomes a consumer, there are options.
