That's the thing. She's in love with the idea of a sprinter. She doesn't even consider the reality of owning one. There is literally at least one on every block in my hood, and the majority never go anywhere beyond 50 miles from the city limits.

Hey, can I meet you in the JHC I love my Wife thread to discuss this alongside my wife's request to purchase a herd of alpacas?

Hyundai bringing it. Won't see them here, though. They disagree that a shooting brake has to have two doors.

Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I can put you in touch with some friends of mine who's wife went down that black hole. Funny creatures, some tax incentives, some profit to be had, massive headache.

That 150k+ mile customized pseudo-M5 wagon posted on the last page is a safer bet.

Get her a herd of Ponzis instead. Build a pyramid to keep them in.

Because they love nothing more than to roam and graze the rolling grasslands of West Seattle.

I’d almost prefer if she had some hair brained #bossbabe MLM angle to this but she just thinks they are cute. Cue barn, fencing, food, vet, loom that will never be used and a shit pile.

Let’s bring this back around. What wagon is the best for towing these precious dirty animals around?

Jeeze, I like it. If 300hp & awd for $40ish I would be all over it.

Someone print out this thread and drop it off over at Hyundai North America.

It worked to get the RS6Avant here.

Is it the type of Hyundai they advise not parking in your garage?

It’s not the one you launch onto a frozen lake either.

RE: the BMW, it's not mine. It belongs to a family member. When I heard he was considering selling, I immediately started imagining ways I could justify buying it, but my wife is really digging her heels in against the idea (she wants a sprinter). We'll see.
Yeah we have for sure. It's a really fun car, and pretty practical. Pretty terrible gas mileage but I guess that goes with fast-wagon territory.

That Bimmer sounds great. Realistically, 300 HP is plenty, and should be reliable. I'm impressed at what those blocks will take with power mods though. Wishing you luck on your acquisition!

Sprinters have a huge mileage advantage over the main AWD alternative, the Ford Transit but at almost twice the price decently optioned, it's a tough sale. That ecoboost in the Ford is a hoot, at the expense of mileage, as mentioned. Practical though, cheaper maintenance and a huge domestic and international network.

With prices of everything these days though, I'll be keeping my 7.3L E350 for the foreseeable future.

I’m headed to the dealership in a couple weeks for a recall on the allroad. Figured I’d see about getting a spare key too, since I only have 1.

$620 plus tax. I told them no thanks.
    focus.

‘13. It’s for the after run coolant pump (or aux coolant pump). I wasn’t too worried about the recall and I’m a few hours away from the nearest dealer anyways, but then the pump threw an EPC light on my dash literally two days after I threw away the letter. My indy quoted me $500 to $600 for parts/labor. That about pays for a weekend away with the girlfriend…. Plus there’s an APR dealer in that town which has been on the list for a while. Win-win.
    focus.
