    Wagon Stoke

I’m at Barrett-Jackson. Not a Benz wagon to be found. A sweet 63 Chevy Wagon sold for $60k.Click image for larger version.

Well... if it was also stick. And diesel. AND roofbox. THEN we'd be just about set.

At least it's the red one tho.

You better be a good wrench that's a witch at sourcing unavailable parts. They only made /sold those for a couple years before closing up shop.

Well, I do have the roof box for it. That’s batting .500!

I looked at a used 9-3 wagon in 2011 or so. When I called up the local Saab shop they advised me to walk away because of parts parts availability.

That was enough to scare me away. It was a stick and it drove great though.

Ended up in a Mazda5 with a stick that served us well even the kids were young. Still sorta regret not getting the Saab, but...

I’ve also been playing with Saabs since 1976. Although, I’m not too familiar with the V-6.

If you buy a Saab you need to have room for a parts car.

The 2010-11 Saab exterior/body parts are the ones that are nearly impossible to source. Maybe try to find an '08 or earlier? I'm a big fan of my wife's '07 9-5 wagon. At 83k and very few issues other than a main seal replacement recently ($1800). Parts are plentiful. Planning to keep that thing for a long time, I just hope our mechanic stays in business (unlikely).

You guys are scaring me. I’ve had three Saab 9–3S in the last 10 years. They were a little bit older, but I never had to put anything but maintenance items into them. All those items were readily available. The one car that I did replace early, was due to a teenage driver.

It's the last few years that are a real problem, they just didn't sell enough for parts to be available. Something as simple as a broken headlight that met a snowbank could disable the car. I was reading about a Saab repair shop somewhere that has 7 different printers and a small machine shop now to make parts they can't get anymore.

It's the newest style 9-3 , v6 and awd option that's really difficult to source parts.

We have an 08 9-5 and it's a great car, parts are easy if you know where to look and not terrible to work on. Couple of we'll known places in town if I need a pro.

Fortunately or unfortunately while trying to wrap my 63yo head around Kermit Green the RS was sold….I spec ordered an A6 Avant.

Please no soliloquy’s on how expensive Audi’s are, I have been driving them since 1989 and know all to well!

Do you know enough about the new A6 allroad to have an opinion on the mild hybrid system?

Man, driving that thing would be like sitting at the Wedgewood Broiler under smoky cover with a Prime Rib and Rob Roy in front of you. In other words, awesome.

I've never seen a restaurant embody the spirit of a wood-paneled station wagon so beautifully.

    Art, thank you.

@jm I've been playing with box and bar position, it gets much better when I move it really far forward. I started moving it forward so the tailgate can open then the sat reception got better, the wind noise did too. I moved it a little further and it got even better, so did the mpg. It looks a bit weird being high in the rear and hanging over the windshield but it seems to act like a spoiler.

Neighbors brought home a new whip last night. First Taycan Sport Turismo I’ve seen in the wild and it’s sexy as fuck.

Well, one of these has the wheels on the top. I don’t know which trim level or model that is, but it’s clearly different to the most casual observer.
    focus.
