Everything I've read suggests VW started to pull it's shit together around 2010.

Emissions cheating required more reliable electrical systems?

White House just proposed a 25% tax on all imported passenger vehicles....

You're telling me that the reality tv retard doesn't actually understand how import tariffs on products produced by multinational corporations with complex supply chains work?

    I'm fucking shocked.

Basically it would be a 25% increase on almost all cars, depending on how they define it.

"For 2017, Cars.com has revamped its longstanding American-Made Index for the first time. Over the AMI's 11-year history, the number of models meeting our original criteria has fallen due to the globalization of automobile manufacturing — from more than 60 vehicles in the AMI's inaugural year to eight last year. By the original requirements, only three 2017 models would have qualified this year."

it's the art of ruining our reputation... using the industries vital to national security for automobiles as the reason for the tariffs is a fucking joke,

that said, we have the lowest tariff on imported cars

rented a brand new v70xc in nashville for a few days last week. general thoughts were 1) the engine is sufficient but lags tough if you’re trying to move on the highway; i lived in manual mode but that’s not the intent of the 8-speed tranny and 2) body roll like a mother fucker.

my ‘06 legacy wagon handled way better, but i’d like to get into the non-xc version to see if handling is any better.

overall, not sure i’d buy without pricing in suspension upgrades, and it would be much better off with a manual tranny.

My BMWs threatened national security many times when I drove into Canada stealing first tracks.

The thing that disappointed me the most with the new generation of V70's is the lack of a 6 cylinder boasted engine. Car manufacturers, you will never talk me into a 4 banger for a large car.
