Good Lord! That must be some sort of world record for a BMW. Well done, Plug. Seriously. That blows my mind. Seems everyone I've known who took theirs past 100K had some sort of catastrophic failure soon thereafter.

I had the car fully examined by a mechanic and we figured it would take probably $2500-$5000 a year to maintain it, and we strongly considered that. Instead we knew that the 340X was going to be the last manual transmission model w/ AWD brought over, so we decided to buy that one, and we may decide to keep it, depending...

Had a ‘78 320i until 215K traded it for...
‘88 325i vert until 141K sold it to get...
‘05 330i sedan until 143K sold it to get...

‘11 328 xdrive wagon, which was great but around 105K needed $5K repairs so flipped it to get

‘18 330 xdrive wagon...buy out after 36 mo lease in 5 months is $28,500. Thing has been great and maintenance and repair free, but paying $530/mo loan payments to own from 40K to 115K and pay for maintenance?

Ex-wife also had a ‘07 X3 which we sold to my cousin at around 111K for $5K ($1K off as it needed tires) and it promptly shit the bed, requiring $5K in repairs.

Picked up a manual ‘07 X3 on a whim, but flipped it after I decided I’d rather buy a house than concentrate on fixing it up. Would have cost about $5K to get it sorted initially.

BMW manual will fetch a nice price even if it needs repairs. Was fun to row some gears for a few months.

My 2006 325xi 6spt wagon will be up for sale in a few months as I am hoping to move across the country. ~90k miles and was in the PNW until last year so only rust is on the hitch for a bike rack. BAT pricing has gone insane so makes sense to let it go even though it still runs great and just had a bunh of big work done (water pump and shocks)

The 325i engines are good for 1,000,000+ miles. I was briefly involved in the million mile project BMW at Mobil. It was on a dyno but still...

Yeah I recall those n/a 3 liter straight sixes were bulletproof.

I had the high-output variant in my e90 330i (a bit of a rare bird as it was the last n/a high-output 330 prior to going to the turbo’d (n53?) 335i, but it was clad in the new e90 body - only sold for 1 year in the US)

Loved that car so much. Ran like a top and went like shit on a hot tin roof.

At the time I had a slight uphill main road that I would turn onto out of my neighborhood that went under a couple underpasses. I'd floor it with the windows down and listen to that thing howl. The echo it made under the bridges would stir your manhood.

Yeah, the old straight 6s we're freaking great. The V8s with the infamous PLASTIC timing chain guides, not so much.

Not a wagon, but such amazing repair porn. Well over 100K miles on this S85 V10 and it's mint (except for the almost failed oil and vanos pumps). I'm addicted to this guy's channel.

Hell no, going electric for around town. Probably an egolf or niro unless chevy fixed the seats in the new bolts and the tax redit re-ups.

We have a q7 tdi and a camp trailer for adventures. I was in Seattle for 12 years, just as many wagons there as there are in new england.

I have wanted a diesel wagon or SUV forever, but every time I read about them there are additional issue due to the fuel type. How has the Q7 treated you?

Q7 has been good, we have owned it for 4 years but not many miles as my wife has had health issues. It's a 5500lb tank and drives like it, smooth on the highway and tows our ~4500lb trailer very nicely. The dieselgate warranty covers most any drivetrain failure for a long time, but it is an audi and I just had to unplug a shorted door lock button that killed the battery. ~20mpg around town, 30 on the highway and 17-19 towing is nice. All that said if I didn't need to tow a highlander/pilot/similar gets similar milage on regular gas with no expensive maintenance.

Woah, Nogaro Blue. MMmmmmmm.

When I showed the lady the new RS6Avant(withoutTurboDiesel6MTandaBox) in Nogaro Blue she scoffed and said if I were ever lucky enough to get such a wagon I'd look like I was driving a Smurf bus and to expect to ride alone.

I still don't see a problem.
