That is why I can't give up my V70R with 197k miles on it. From 60mph to 100mph in a blink of the eye, for passing on those roads up to Mammoth. Just did a suspension refresh. I am stoked.

Nice. If I had your car, I'd never give up on the ol' girl either as the entire [American] car industry still refuses to give us a proper replacement.

The V70R's still one of my dream cars that becomes further and further from reality as time goes on.

Speaking of dream cars, I was talking to my wife about the Avant RS6 coming to the USA in 2020 for $130k. She told me to wait until it is 5 years old and has depreciated like a rock to buy. I hope she is right, as that would be the replacement for Inga.

That RS6 Avant does look freaking amazing and is going to be crazy fast (and daddy likey), BUUUUUT the reason the V70R still reigns supreme for me is that (A) it was an attainable car for a middle class person to buy with an MSRP of not even quite $40K new (is that correct?), and (B) could actually be had with a proper manual transmission. Plus, unlike the Audi, I'm not scared of keeping a Volvo as long as 200,000 miles. Haha.

MSRP on mine was $45k. It sat on a lot for a year, as no one would buy the 6 speed MT which worked out good for me as I got it for $38k. With my car many of the modules have started to fail after 150k miles and they are expensive to replace. Just replaced the Brake Control and ABS modules but I love the car, so what can I do? In the next 6 months I am looking at a new OEM CAT that is CA compliant and OEM Brembo brakes all the way around for about $2,000 installed by my Indie.

You dont say. Alarm system draining battery. Id run it by a volvo mechanic and get a guess on what it take to fix. 5k shit Im thinking about it. Helluva grocery getter

Wee Doggy...hold on to you're hat! 300 HP, AWD, twin inter-cooled KKK turbo, Brembo brakes, 5 speed auto, nice styling, comfort, awesome sound system, Zenon lights, tinted windows much more.
    Has had fluid changes, alignment,
Runs fantastic! cold A/C. The car still needs some TLC, ailments that come with age.( alarm issue draining battery), and windshield.
This is a RARE model and it's a thrill to drive. New was a $40,000 car. Best deal on line

Anyone driving or have experience with the newer BMW F30/F31, 330i xdrive wagons? Local BMW dealer has a few CPO's on hand. Girlfriend is looking for a new car and I'm pushing her away from the crossovers. Of course BMW axed the wagon's a year ago but the 2018's look sharp, especially with the M-sport package.

I've driven my Father-in-Laws F30 328 sedan a few times. It's a very nice driving car, and has plenty of punch.

But, I think his previous E90 was a much better drivers car. From the hydraulic steering to the inline 6, it just felt sharper. IMO, they really softened this generation of 3 series.

That said, it would still be way better to drive than any SUV that doesn't have a Porsche badge on the hood.

You clearly haven't driven an SQ5 or a Stelvio have you?

I had two different E91s and I drove the F31 for a couple weekends on loaner. I love the engine, do not necessarily like the suspension or steering, but they fixed some of those problems after the launch. If I hadnít already owned the E91 I wouldíve loved the F version. I have an F30 now in the 340 xdrive configuration.

Our family has had many BMW's over the years and I have to say my wife's 428 is an awesome driving car. I love the extra punch you get from the engine when going from Economy to Sport. I wish my V70R had the same increase in power when I change settings. Thing with BMW's is you sell before 100k miles or the car can get really expensive to maintain.

I had one of these with a Dinan stage 2 tune (approx. 380 hp and 415 lb ft of torque) and it was a great ski car. Fast, super comfy and a beast in the snow. The looks really grew on me the longer I had it.

    I have a 2018 330 xdrive wagon and I had a 2011 e91 wagon.

Similar to comments above, I love the engine.

The e91 steering felt way heavier; almost too heavy. Would have kept it but it needed $5K of repairs so I flipped it for the f31.

The f31 steering feels light. I do feel it tighten up when put into sport mode.

These are def first world problems.

Iíve passed cars coming back from Kirkwood on Highway 88 at 80 mph and it felt super solid. Car also averaged 30 mpg on the roundtrip between the Bay Area and Kirkwood. Same thing going from the Bay Area to/from Mammoth. Handled great, went fast, and good MPG.

One thing I would recommend is to swap out RFT for non-RFTs. Tires make a huge difference.

What I may do in 2 years when my lease runs out is just get a 230 xdrive and put a box on top in winter. That way Iíll have a more fun car to drive and better power to weight ratio.

I only have one kid and Iím no longer toting the wife, so I might not need all the space of the wagon any longer...

Did all the bushings in the front of the car, new e-shocks all around, new seats on the strut towers. Mechanic hated me for requesting the bushing replacements. There is a thread in the R forum about which bushings to replace at swedespeed. Maybe look around in the forum for your model?

How is the space in them compared to a sienna? How bad will the drive be compared to the A4?

Unfortunately we can't afford to wait until these bad boys start arriving in the states, so we are pretty close to pulling the trigger on a 17' BMW xdrive 330i wagon... going back this afternoon to have another look.
