A bit of a change from the Euro Wagen stoke...

We took our 2012 Prius V on its first family vacation. 160k on it. Since it was brand new I've replaced some lugs and wheel nuts that were stretched, rear brake pads finally wore out (front pads still original), and I replaced all 6 of the burned out marker/driving lights/license plate lights with LED bulbs, spark plugs, and it does seem to have started sipping some oil, been in twice for recalls related to the invertor but we haven't experienced a failure. We averaged 38 mpg on this trip, 4 people and the 34 CF trunk stacked to the max - with the seats one notch forward the fishing poles and trekking poles fit in the slot between the seat and the trunk perfectly and my 6 foot 2 inch stepson still has loads of legroom and headroom plus room for a dog between the kids. Still amazes me how much interior room Toyota designed into this wagon. Lots 80 mph interstate driving where mileage seems to be 35 ish. In the mountains it was way over 40. Did almost 60 mpg from Salida to Denver of course. My wife thinks the mileage is lower after they updated the invertor programming to prevent it from frying itself. Who knows. It does seem a bit lower than when it was new but considering almost zero cash spent on fixing anything it has been a good little commuter for her that can double as a vacation wagon. Also the Orca holds ice for the whole week, allowing us to treat ourselves to ice cold beer and some fresh food when we return (pictured).

I usually swing by the wall of Hot Wheels at the grocery store and grab a couple for our son every time I make a trip there.

I picked this one up on a recent trip.

Shoutout to all the dentists: get those extra fillings scheduled and unnecessary root canals going.

With a strong E63 group and very prevalent Audi contingent here in the RFV, I’m sure they’ll be a few sitting in our traffic soon enough.

Nice find! I'll have to be on the lookout for that one for my kiddos too. They'd love a wagon hotwheels. My son made me proud yesterday. Since the A/C on the old Volvo's not working so well and it's been triple digits for weeks straight, we've had to switch car seats to my Trailblazer which blasts ice cold air and has great rear seat vents. He was complaining as he was climbing into the vehicle and said "Dad, I don't want to go in this car. I want to go in the other car. I like it more." I was like, "Me too, son. Me too." Kid's only 3 and is already a wagon fan / SUV hater like me.

I hear ya, but where do I put the two doggies and all my ski gear when we are driving to Mammoth. For me, that RS6 is the do it all dream car. The coupe, not real practical.

Agree. The people who will be buying the RS6 probably already have a few nice Porsche's in the stable anyways!

Yo Bobby, that Miami Blue or Mexico Blue

Love that they’re getting away from black wheels in favor of regular grey or dark silver. Black wheels hide the detail and look like meaningless blobs half the time.
