Is that "white silver metallic"? Looks good. Exploring color options to Raptor Line the cancerous paint on my van.

It is. Parked next to a silver car it looks white, next to a white car it looks silver. In certain conditions it's almost robin's egg blue.

Anyone driving the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack? I'm intrigued, but wishing it had about 100hp more than the stock 170hp.
However many are in a shit ton.

We have plenty of posts here on the Alltrack. Love mine...6 spd manual.

Easy chip options to get power bump. Or upgrade the turbo.

It’s tuned for wide torque band, pulls hard and I’m pretty much passing everyone at will but I don’t have 500 lbs of passengers.

Clutch from the GTI, awd system from the R....

VW is putting the 1.4T in the FWD Golf SportWagen for 2019:

    https://media.vw.com/en-us/press-kit...agen-press-kit

I've averaged 46MPG from MA to VT in our Jetta with that engine.

    Still miss the V70R.

Comparing a 2.0 TDI to the new 1.4t...

new engine has less HP and less torque. Mate that to a 4 motion and weakness ensues. Just guessing.

One could have an almost new post fix dieselgate 2015 golf sportwagen tdi with a better warranty than a 2019.

Most Tdi's avg. over 40 mpg under 70 mph. I get 40-45 btwn 60-70 and 37-40 over that. Manuals a little better and sedans more so.

The 4-Motions will continue to get the 1.8T.

And the new VWs come with a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty.

Ah, yes I did see that. Well the 1.8 makes it more viable.

And now 6yr. B-B. Damn, Vw 's working harder to sell cars now.

Bumper to bumper is not as all inclusive as many think. Close though.

Yeah. They are working hard to overcome their reputation of poor quality.

The 11yr 162k mile warranty of the 2015 TDIs is about as good as it gets.

The yellow doesn't bother me as much as those cars are money pits.

    Wagon Stoke

I traded the CL for a GLK

    https://www.mercedesbenzofboise.com/...gg8jb0dg035119

Still have my 2004 w211 e500 wagon. I love V8 in that one. Old school. I prefer a normally aspirated engine and this NA V6 in the GLK is sporty. Both cars have exactly same horsepower ten years later.

    302 hp
    270 tq

    Still prefer V8

What do you get for mileage if you aren't too heavy on the pedal around town and on the highway?

the E500 V8 gets 20 mpg to infinity no matter how you drive it. 17 around town. It's efficient because it's so powerful. Any w211 V8 is a great car. The E500 in Sport 2 is an excellent handling car.

You want a luxury car that gets good mileage? W221 S-class. Ours gets 27 mpg cruising along at 80 mph.

Just put a deposit on a 2018 6 speed manual Alltrack S (no leaky sunroof). Just $200 more than I paid for my manual 2002 Subaru Outback 16 years ago and the Subaru was like $2400 below msrp. 6 year 72k warranty and manual tranny and deep discount = they got me. My stepson took over the Outback.

Fuck VW but I am not grown up enough yet to daily an automatic.

    Never say never.

Thanks, I had a 1985 300D and that was poor on gas; like 18 around the city and 22-24 on the highway. Going to get a new used car sometime after the winter. the 500 wagons are not selling for much more that the 350's. The reported gas mileage on either is not that great, but I have heard people do ok and if the 500 is close to the 350 I would look that way.

My 300 wagon (first year with the 3.2 gas) was about the same for gas.

Hey uglymoney, the hwy mpg on the manual is pretty good esp after it breaks in. Last few tanks have been steady 72-77 mph slogs with AC on thru the desert....36 mpg
Know of a pair of Fischer Ranger 107Ti 189s (new or used) for sale? PM me.

That is awesome. Magazine tests have them doing about 1 mpg better than the Outback overall. Also Car and Driver managed 0 to 60 in 6.7 seconds with the manual in the long term. Seems fast for 170 hp. Way more room up front than my old Outback.

Chipped yet? I hear that can help the mileage too. 36mpg is really good IMO.

My focus last 2 yrs has been my 4WD diesel camper van. Endless cool projects and upgrades. So I haven’t done anything to the Alltrack other than aero roof rack bars and second set of wheels.
