I'm down with the wagons. Had a 11' golf wagon (jetta sportwagon in Amurica) which I traded in for B7 S4 6-speed and recently purchased an 01' outback with a 5-speed.
They handle better, (some) get better mileage than SUV's and they haul a shit load of stuff.

To balance out Buster's sweet Euro wagon stoke I offer my shitbox MT5 02 Outback with 175k. KYB GR2 struts, 2006 Baja Turbo Springs plus 1/4" lift on rear for proper balance, MeganRacing toe and camber links on rear end, Subaru authorized remanufactured shortblock with 33k of warranty left, MLS Turbo headgaskets and every gasket, belt, and pulley imaginable is new. Rides a little rough unloaded but it is a mini rally (smile) machine now in addition to being a family truckster/daily commuter.

That's pretty good gas mileage for 155mph. I had a 94 Grand Cherokee Limited with the 5.8L V8 that did that while idling.
I still call it The Jake.

Those early 80's Subaru's were dogs. Only thing worse were the 70's Suby's- tag line" inexpensive and built to stay that way" we use to say "fucking shitty cars and built to stays that way". Really under powered and all the exhaust failed on them rather quickly. People I knew that had them ditched them fast and bought rabbits with studs.

my buddy dumped his mid 70's Suby and upgraded to a VW bus and IT WAS MUCH faster than his old Subaru.

hey now, Peugeot makes some sweet rides to this day. I had a 89' 405 MI16 that drove like a race cart and sounded like a lawn mower. That thing had more electrical gremlins than all my other cars I have owned put together but when it was running right it handled like a race car. I think it required 3 days of repair for every day of driving toward the end.

Haha. Ain't that the truth?! However, I think I gained a few HP on my 1986 Subaru GL after I lost the muffler somewhere off-roading. That car was awesome. A total beater I picked up for like $250, but the body and interior were perfect. Power windows and everything. Car was ugly as sin with it's baby poop yellow color, but boy was that car fun. Cheaper than a go-kart and I treated it as such, but street legal! But yes, that car was slow as frozen molasses. You'd floor it, and the engine would work so hard, but you'd be barely going anywhere. I think I clocked 0-60 at like 15 seconds. Then again, it did have over 200,000 miles. I drove that poor car hard and abused the piss out of it, and it took all the abuse pretty superbly. The perfect college car! No way could most modern cars take the kind of punishment that those older cars could. Kids these days don't know what they're missing out on.

Honestly I am stoked on the BBS CH-R's on my car and I think they woud look good on yours too but it's a matter of taste. They are fairly light-ish, strong and not all THAT expensive. But the BEST thing about them is the polished stainless lip they come with. Awesome feature. You curb them, you pull the lip off and replace it for $50 and you can easily do it yourself. No tools required. Hell no skill required. If you get the bright silver ones the lip blends right in, you can't even see it: http://bbs.com/en/products/performance_line/ch-r.php
There are probably other wheels out there with this feature but I don't know of them. You can buy the lips from BBS America or Tirerack, same exact price. ~$52. or so.
The titanium ones would look good on your car too but the lip stands out against the titanium.
