In downtown Austin right now and saw this tonight. I just about creamed my pants. Wife was not amused that I didn't snap any pics of her or anything else, but this... THIS I had to memorialize.

The Porsche design configuration is like a game that challenges you to build the tackiest car you would actually drive. The Cross Turismo above inspired this:

I've given up the comfort of virtual ventilated and massaging seats to keep the purist virtual sport plus seats. Does Akrapovic sell brass exhaust tips for the Taycan?

Nice overall look in that color, I particularly like the painted calipers although Riser might disagree

Some of you may have seen posts I made in other threads about my father passing away week before last.

We had a difficult time writing a eulogy because very few of the funnier stories about him are appropriate to tell in a church. You could say he was "unconventional" to say the least. One of the funniest conversations I had with my brothers and some of our friends was about all of the crazy cars he owned. His dad was a mechanic in the army during the occupation of Germany and could fix stuff for him, so he never learned to wrench himself. I restored a couple of FJ's when I was younger and had to learn on my own because he was of little use. He would sometimes come over while I was working on a truck generally just distract me as his way of "helping." When I was a kid he owned a series of 60's era Mustangs. He later became a fan of Mercedes, but the funniest thing was that some how he would always end up with these weird vehicles that he took in trade for real estate commissions. An 80's Lincoln Continental with all electric windows none of which worked, A Porsche 928 that had been taken apart to be repainted and the moulding wasn't installed correctly and it leaked. A early 90's Thunderbird in burgundy and navy. Just a bunch of weird cars. One of my earliest memories was riding in the back of a late 70's Audi that he bought. My sister and I would pull the strands of run away upholstery and unravel the material, he wasn't a big fan.

So I was digging through the garage trying to find a pistol he had squirreled away, before the grandkids all got to the house, knowing the gun would be loaded... and found this old key chain from that Audi.

It makes me smile to see it on my keys, I don't have high hopes for the leather, but as long as it lasts I will carry it with pride in having such an unusual father, they certainly don't make them like him any more.

RIP to your dad, that's a great story, and very cool keychain.

My neighbor has that exact Taycan except with the stock silver wheels. It's really good looking in person.

That's actually an incredible build you did there. What color is that, Porsche p.t.s. metallic green?

Stupid question time but wtf is that thing? Panamera? It’s kinda sexy but ugly at the same time. It looks like it has a prohibitively long wheelbase.

Taycan Sport Turismo (wagon). They're actually much smaller in person than their Panamera Sport Turismo brother.

Calipers are in the wrong spot for a high performance car. Shouldn’t be highlighting it.

Color was gorgeous. Sun was going down so my phone didn't exactly capture just how stunning it looked in person.

That's right! The size is actually just about perfect for my preferences.

As I stood there for a minute admiring the vehicle, in a world with more and more SUVs, I couldn't help but actually be kind of shocked that Porsche even made this vehicle in this particular form AT ALL! Wish I had the loot, or I'd be all over one myself.

I agree. Low pros are bullcrap. I don't mind them on sports oriented cars, but on trucks, suvs, and everything in between, the trend needs to go. They're getting out of control. So much so, that manufacturers have had to work all sorts of magic with suspension technology to make the ride compliant at all. Any time you hit a pothole, it is an EXPENSIVE affair. Even more annoying when you hit one where there was zero avoiding it like when they're the width of the entire lane and you're flanked on both sides by other vehicles. Ooh I hate that.

I had a serious debate in my head whether to go with the stock 255/45/20 on the Volvo or go with the other stock size 235/60/18 because I hate ruining expensive wheels. We went with the stock 20s and have been appreciating them but I'm always on edge waiting for that one that I just can't miss. Yesterday on Long Island where I think they invented and have certainly perfected crumbly roads and potholes I took out a few biggies and the 235/65 AT tires on steel wheels on the minivan were nice to have.

I came here to post this because it's just glorious. 421 tri power with a 4 speed. Name: FB_IMG_1676986081392.jpg

No doubt the Audi is the sexier of the two, but I wouldn't kick the Sport Turismo out of bed either.

I love the look of the current Panamera (it's like a modern 928) and if it ever came down to it I wonder if I'd take that over the Sport Turismo and regret not having the wagon functionality

While I DO agree that the RS6 is the more visually appealing of the 2, I disagree about the Porsche. She looks great in person. See J. Barron's response above. LMAO:

Speaking of Audi, I saw the below car in the wild yesterday. It was pure sex appeal.

On the one hand I’m kinda sick of Audi’s newer styling already, but on the other hand I struggle to think of a better looking / across the board lineup at any other manufacturer.
