I had the sedan version with a Cobb AP stage 1, MT & snows. She ripped up north every friday at speed but I did manage to blow turbo engine pre tuning and dealer said best guess was the car wasn't meant to handle 4 people w ski gear at sustained high speeds.

Track day at Lime Rock. I had the use of the track and a race prepped M3 for the day but they told me to take a few laps in my car while they refueled/inspected M3 at lunch. Brakes went soft after a couple laps.

I wanted an audi allroad 2.7T wagon manual roofbox blah blah blah but I was a little too fiscally responsible at the time to deal with the maintenance of it.

Long term plan: it needs to blow up so I can justify an STi motor & 6spd swap, lol.

But for now just minor tuneup stuff. Prob pull the motor soon and do timing belt, head gaskets, coils/plugs, rocker cover seals, and clutch.

Drives ok and has no CELs for now. Body and interior are nice enough (and car was cheap enough) to tolerate the usual Subaru boxer motor fuckery.

That and the Forester XT (with a manual) are the two coolest cars Subaru has brought to NA.

Some of the 08-14 WRX parts may fit that car. Also, the Spec.B transmissions aren't hard to find and cheaper than the STI units. Difference is in the differential, and I think a little longer ratios iirc. Get the Spec.B Bilsteins & springs for a little nicer suspension.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Agreed. There was a guy I used to see at Autocross that ran one and whipped it around like it was nothing.
    Always looked cool.

thanks. yeah, I'll do the nice mls gaskets with arp head studs when it comes time. clamp that shit tight. (assuming i don't find other problems that would make working on this motor nonsensical... there are a few suspect components that will see some scrutiny in the coming days)

Nice Norse. We are recent additions to the Subey world with a '19 Forester. Great little car.

    That's a nice looking ride.

My OB must have been built on a Friday, in 7 years and 125,000 miles it went through 2 sets of head gaskets and a set of cam crank seals in the NA 2.5. When I traded it in it was at the point where I dumped a bottle of Stop-Leak in the crankcase and gave the undercarriage a thorough washing on the way to the dealer to get rid of it.

"Fill the oil, check the gas," was the order of the day pulling into a full service station with that rig.

    Wagon Stoke

X2 on the color, Norse. That’s one of the finest looking Subarus of all time IMO.

What does this mean for the maroon marauder?
