Yep, weather techs are in every car I own. Saved me from some serious headaches on multiple occasions. Make sure you get the trunk tray as well, can be used for all sorts of drying/storage/cleanup out of the car, especially while camping.

Too bad they don't go under the front seats where I just spilled an entire can of Dr Browns soda 2 weeks ago

People have never been allowed to drink in my caR. My wife tries it occasionally and gets the stink eye.

Not even on road trips? Seems a little draconian.

French fries.... that’s a different story.
    focus.

Indeed. They're also awesome for all the snow that melts off your ski boots! For slushy spring skiing, my WeatherTech mats have been SO nice. Just pour out the near gallon of water when you get back home. Haha.

FWIW, I've had mine close to a decade of Montana winters and they still look like new. They're not cheap but they're American made and will likely last the life of your vehicle. Plus their fit is second to none. My dad has the factory mats on his Tundra and they're garbage compared to my WeatherTechs.

And I second the opinion that getting the matching trunk liner is WELL worth it.

Water, no soda is allowed on a road trip. And ya, I am pretty type A.

Brutal. I couldn't deal with that Liv2. We eat drink and piss in our cars. I save all the pretty carpeted matts for some reason but never use them and I have never sold a car for anything other than parts. Keeping them stupid clean is kind of pointless for us but keeping grit out of the carpet is nice.

The VW factory rubber mats are useless but the dealer sold muddy buddy trunk liner by weathertech is really nice. I'd have weather techs in all my cars if they weren't almost a car payment.

What do you guys do with the carpeted floor matts? I think I need to fight my internal hoarder and throw mine away.

You can pressure wash carpet mats to clean them.

And why are you pissing in the car?

I use the carpet mats in the summer, I'm not a fucking heathen.

I prefer Findway mats to the weather tech ones. Softer, less slippery and way way cheaper. The one set of WTs I had didn't fit all that great.

Car camping in the winter. No way I am getting out of the car when it is -5 out. It is only gross if you spill and we have found it doesn't decrease the value of a car sold for parts.

Also nobody ever asks me for a ride.

It is always mud season for me. I've always thought it'd be neat to put in the carpeted mats for a wedding or some snazzy event. But it never happens.

I knew some of the first gen X5s were manuals but never an X3. That’s awesome.

    Nice.

We need a three pedal appreciation thread.

Seen a few tv shows where they electrify old cars but keep the trans and three pedals. That’s the only electric I want

What's the collectives call on a used but well documented 2006 A4 3.2 wagon? All things that need to be done are up to date.
Move along nothing to see here.

What could possibly go wrong with a 14 year old Audi?

    $1,000 thermostat for my Audi.
    I’m done.

That doesn't make any sense. Even the taycan only has 2 speeds. Driveline losses are big and electric motor power range is huge.
I love manual transmissions, but it's a use case that makes the car worse in every way if functional.

Keep the faith man. I tapped out many years ago now and just have fond memories.
