So this obvious bullshiter responded to me about an ad I have on Craigslist:

He emailed me saying he wanted to pay an extra $50 to insure I would keep it for him?! Then he texted me in his almost real english:

When I asked for his address, he went silent. My question is, how is he making money on this deal? Last month I bagged a dirtbag who was listing my cabin and soliciting rentals until someone contacted me. Is Craigslist the new home for all ex cons? WTF?!

I would guess that it would most likely be the "Oops, I overpaid/purchase fell through, can you send back the money?" then the check is reported bad/fraudulent and the money is taken from your account.

I always love the craigslist posters who insist, usualy with some exclamation points "No Scammers!!!!" As if the nigerians were just looking for someone to scam but then they thought "Oh, damn, he said scammers can't call him, guess we have to find someone else."

They sometimes send the funds, fraudulent check that is accepted, but eventually bounces or is on a stolen/fraudulent check from someone else's account. Sometimes they later state they can't complete the pick-up and ask for the money back before the check is ultimately rejected and funds pulled from your account.

Weird thing is, he had a Vermont number and was obviously texting me. Used the name Fred Herman of which there are none in VT.

I'd love to f with him a bit... Keep him busy and out of circulation. Do I text back and say he can have it for free?... No money, no score for him, but he'd have to explain why he doesn't want it. I'd love to just get rid of it.
