Bloom County comic strip returns after 25 yrs!! YES!!!!

Bloom County was easily my favorite comic strip of all. The way he combined humor and satire was unique.

I'm glad to see Berkeley Breathed back at the board!!!!

Woohoo! One of the best comic strips of all time. "Ack!"

As a kid, I even named one of my cats Bill. Twas an orange mutt cat with one eye and a total 'tard, but super cuddly and loveable. Loved that little guy.

I remember cutting every strip out of the newspaper growing up. I was too young to grasp the politics, just loved the humor. This is awesome news. Awesome.

    Kick ass.

My favorite Xmas story to read to my kids was "A Wish for Wings that Work." I think we have all the books too.

Here's hoping this will get Larson to restart The Far Side too.

My current cat is named Bill.

I wonder if there's any chance Calvin and Hobbs would come back.

    Just enough to tease us.

Watterson is from my hometown and is an absolute recluse. He used to slip signed copies of his collections into the shelves of his favorite bookstore but once people caught on and started to hound him, he went deep underground.

I think he paints landscapes with his dad on their land now.

    We can still hope.

Honestly one of my favorite factoids about this great strip is that the creator used to be a Berkeley & UCLA bred insurance defense litigation attorney. Explains some of the barbs that cut pretty deep.

Great news! Bloom County was sooo good. Probably a tie with Far Side for the best. Dilbert a close bronze medal winnah.

No way on Dilbert. It used to be kinda funny and even edgy back when it was new but that is a long time ago. Top three have to be Bloom County, The Far Side and Calvin and Hobbes. Personally I'd put Doonesbury pretty near the top. Pearls is right there with the top 3 in my book. I guess Peanuts is kind of in its own category almost.

Pearls before swine is too inconsistent. Some days it's brilliant, most days it's mediocre at best.

Bloom County was the best political comic in a funny way. Doonesbury is less comic and more straight out political commentary. Calvin and Hobbs is probably the single best comic as far as creativity. That all said, The Far Side is my favorite for its scientific bent. The guy is genius.
