Cancellara out with two fractured verts. Also busted two vertebra this spring. Dude finished the stage today. Just unbelievable how high the pain threshold is with these guys.

In other news ... velogames site is down.

Caliriders lost two today (Canc and Dumoulin). Let's see if his torrid pace can continue.

So far 3 great stages to watch! I haven't done much fast-forwarding on my DVR so far!

    More fun with tomorrow's cobbles.

On another note, It looks like the field returned the favor that Chancellara did the other year when he requested the peloton back off while waiting for Contador...was it Contador?

Anyway, who says honor is dead?
I thought that was for Andy and Frank? Anyway this time the race director stopped the race, not le Patron.

    No shit...so far, so good!

I pay for the nbc feed and I was worried I might not be able to get while visiting our friendly northern neighbors, but it seems to be no problem so far.

Tomorrow should be fun. I love the NBCSN promo: "They call it the hell of the north, but the road to this hell isn't paved with good intentions, it's not paved at all".

Could be Sagan's day, time to earn all that money Tinkoff's paying him. If it's like last year though, it's anybody's guess...survival of the fittest.

Forecast is for dry and sunny weather so it shouldn't be as dramatic as last year's. Besides they are not visiting the worst cobblestones areas (unlike last year). Let's see...

After today's action, anyone with some decent mountain/riding skills will bust a move tomorrow, put the stress on the "leaders" and challenge in the end.
I see a true wild card move. TJ?

Thanks of the fill in. My remarks about the favor being returned still hold. The flag dropped at the top of the climb, but full speed did not resume for many minutes. Once it seemed all who could continue were ready, racing resumed...very sporting gesture.

Still, it was a brutal day. Fingers crossed for today being less so.

The organizers wanted to make the first week interesting this year...

    I'd say they succeeded!

Great racing so far, and looks like the cobbles may get a little damp this morning. Good times!!
