The battles on l'Alpe d'Huez kept me glued to the TV. Turbo vindicated, Quintana stomps, Froome defends, Porte sacrifices, Valverde sacrifices. Many other compelling stories...truly the storybook stage.
Champagne today. Cue the sprinters! The sad truth is that whine does not age well

Before the start it, seems two men in a car have rammed the baricades at the stage finish, police looking for them. I hope there is no further such mayhem... the usual racing mayhem is quite enough.

Raining in Paris, so race may be neutralized till Champs.

^^^ If you go to Bigstock, ask the handsome, charming guy selling raffle tickets at the entrance if he has change for a nickle...

Well played telebobski, not only did you drop the hammer on the TGR league, winning by almost 1800 points, you had an overall finish of 156th out of who knows how many, I was 20,554th!!!
Chapeau and $20 donated to a worthy cause! The Sheriff is near!

Did anybody happen to catch the women's race that took place before the men came through? They pretty much neutralized the men's race until the rain stopped but the women's race was a complete cluster fuck of crashes. Doesn't quite seem fair.

Thanks to all who contributed. I saw the OAS office manager this evening and asked if she had seen any PayPal payments of $10-20. She said "yes, it was crazy. There were some from Portland, but a bunch from the east coast as well. I was trying to figure out how they learned about us. Then we got a contribution from France (schnappi?) and I was pretty sure we were being trolled or phished or something. We also got a payment that mentioned something about a charming guy selling raffle tickets at Bigstock. Couldn't figure out what that was about".
I explained and expressed my disappointment that she couldn't figure out that charming guy was me.
She asked me to thank you all both for the money and for the entertainment.
Thanks from me too. I agree, a Vuelta league would be fun.
