Martin seemed a little surprised in one of the pix... Chapeau!

Not if you have Tony Martin on your team...the previous 2 stages, on the other hand...

Impressive Nibali and amazing Martin, specially after suffering a mechanical and having to come back to the main group and beat them all with one of his teammate's bike!!! First ever TDF victory on a borrowed bike?

Any comments on the return of time bonuses this year? I think I know what Tony Martin would say...

For those thinking GC, here are the standings after 4 stages. Unless wind/crash, could stay this way for the next few flat'ish stages.

    CF: 00
    TJ: 13 sec
    AC: 36 sec
    VN: 1 min 38 sec
    NQ: 1 min 56 sec

It's early, but I would really, really hate to see Froome take over GC at the first mountain and hold it. Good news is those gaps are close enough where Froome will have a lot of guys to watch. There's also the TTT where all those teams (Sky, BMC, Saxo, Astana, and Movi) should be good. Maybe less so Saxo and Astana.

Okay since this seems to be the official TDF thread this year can I talk about how bad Christian Vande Velde is at his new job? Maybe he should take that set of balls out of his mouth before he speaks. Or maybe I'm just spoiled by Phil and Paul?

He was on last year too..

Personally I'd rather listen to Jensey.. dude is an animal and tells it like it is.

    2015 TDF Fantasy League

Agreed on Jens. Yeah, I didn't think CVV was going to get another year after last year but here we are. Schlanger, Porino, and CVV make Americans seem like a bunch of hacks compared to Phil and Paul.

Despite the artificial nature of the bonuses, I like the urgency it creates in the peloton

So far so good with Jens...he's had some good insights with strategy to start. We'll have to see how it goes with time. Will he repeat things or will he continue to be insightful?

I don't get the studio team with my purchased web access, just the direct feed (& no commercials!). Sounds like I'm not missing much.

CVV has recent experience, and is a lot easier to understand than Jens.

Bobke is really stale - I think he was still using toe clips and friction shifters when he retired.

Phil and Paul are well, Phil and Paul - I cringe at least twice a day at shit they say, but then remember they have to fill up a shitload of airtime.

Love Jensie but he seems a little stiff in the studio, not unexpected since he hasn't been there much. I don't think CVV is terrible, but with Bobke it's getting a little crowded in there.

Don't forget, Bobke gets a lot of the credit for bringing Lance back to racing after the cancer, I guess that's still worth something but not sure for how long though, maybe that's why CVV is still there.

I used to think Bobke was excruciatingly awkward and had a face made for radio, but he has grown on me the past couple years.

Does no one else listen to Curby and Kelly? Curby announcing a stage finish typically results in an orgasm while Kelly stumbles over his "turds" and "classiments." In any case, I would much rather listen to those two than those fuckin' hacks Phil and Paul. Betcha Jens is measuring every word for fear of dropping F bombs.

I actually prefer these 2 to Phil/Paul but I'm not streaming the Tour (maybe I should, fewer commercials). Most of the streamed coverage has them. Kelly is a good color man, Curby (Kirby?) is funny as hell and I stole his catch phrase for my team name.
