Mercedes and BMW have lost their soul. Audi is on the way. Tons of models, all with a AMG/M/RS variants. Volume cars that are kind of sporty.
Except for the RS7 and S8.... The big German 3 are Meh."I don't pretend to have all the answers, and I think there's something to be said for that" -One For The Road

A7 is a kick ass car and the RS models rock
there are the best looking German cars on the road today....they have come a long way from being a glorified VW...not anymore

Not to turn this into a car thread but Audi went bye bye in the soul dept some time ago...at least Benz ditching Chrysler brought their cred back along side with bringing out some of the baddest German muscle cars money can buy.
The fact that an S4 now plays with a 335i and you need an RS4 to play with an M3 is fucking gey....don't even start on the fact that you can't get an Avant in North America anymore...The Q line screams poop pusher.
I don't hate on Audi at all and enjoy the looks of a few but they don't have "soul".
And now back to hating on bird gear and reading the traps DD's lays for a few...

Go drive a APR tuned RS7 and report back.
I drive lots of nice cars, and Audi is my favorite of the volume German brands. Best road trip/daily car is a 14 A8L TDi, hard loaded. 800 miles per tank, awesome interior. 70-75k used with low miles.
V10 R8s at 110k have replaced Gallardos as the UGR tuning car of choice.

You can drive any factory beast that's aftermarket tuned and report it's fun as fuck...but that's not soul though. IMO soul left Audi when the B5&C5 S/RS car were done...those were classic looking and not disposable looking as many of today's offerings. Today's may be bigger factory beasts but it doesn't speak for soul. The R8 rocks no doubt and will be a model remembered forever I'm sure but as a brand Audi soul overall I don't see anymore.
APR, GIAC, JHM, 034...all are great tuners...but soul to me comes from the factory to start.
Like DDs opinions...we don't ave to agree.
Bird gear hate...

Shit. Drive a regular RS7 or S8, both are better than their competitors. The RS7 I had happened to be tuned to 720hp by APR.
Merc and BMW are way behind Audi. They are all soulless. If you want soul and a sedan, buy a Rapide S."I don't pretend to have all the answers, and I think there's something to be said for that" -One For The Road

Lexus? Really?
Yeah fuck that. Dollar for dollar I'll take the German cars over any Japanese car for soul and spirit, especially the AMG Benzes, M series Bimmers, and RS series Audis. Now the new Jaguars are pretty interesting, but the Lexus F and F Sport are rather underwhelming.

I've test driven Lexus, Infinity and Acura and there is a difference.
All fine cars but the Germans still have the edge. As for Jags I've never been a fan until a few years ago but never tested any to make a valid comment.
I'd say Mercedes is the Arc'teryx of cars and BMW is the Patagonia of carsriser4 - Ignore me! Please!

We traded my wife's Audio A4 on a 6 cylinder Cadillac ATS and it is a better car in every way. 325 hp accelerates like a rocket and handles like a go cart. Highly recommended if you are interested in being a loser like us and going sub 5 liter.
