    Baltimore question...

I'll have about 4-5 hours to kill before a flight out tomorrow at BWI (dropped of at BWI at 10, flight leaves 1630). Is it worthwhile to catch light rail down to the harbor area? Looks like a half hour ride to Camden and then a few minutes walk?

I mean, you could take a walk and grab a reasonable lunch, so why not? I think Fells Point is more interesting than the area around the ballpark and the aquarium. IIRC, there is a water taxi that will take you over there.

Spending that much time in BWI would be pretty fucking grim.

Like Sirshred, why not? Even if you just stay in the inner harbor and don't cruise over to Fells Point it's a great aquarium as far as aquariums go, there's the Historic Ships thing, the Science Center has Imax and whatnot, there's an art museum, you could kill a few hours pretty easily.

The harbor is nice if you are a tourist. There's cool shit to do there if you have never been. Fells point is a bit harder to get to, but has more history, if you're into that.

Fort McHenry is very close too.

    Just don't get shot :-)

second getting dropped off in Inner Harbor to begin with? Def worth it, cool area. There was someone stabbed and killed in front of the hotel we were staying at down there last year, but that was at 2am, I think during the day you'll be fine (next day.... ok, kids, step around the fresh blood stained sidewalk ).

I'm getting dropped off with a group of people leaving all different times.

Not getting shot or stabbed will be at the top of my list.

Baltimore is really not that dangerous. Seriously. Have fun!

A very cool way to spend an hour or two is the Visionary Arts Museum

A unique place. Always fun. Short cab ride from the light rail.

I've never been to the brick-and-mortar museum, but they put on the kinetic sculpture race, which I went out of my way to check out a couple times. Pretty cool stuff.

Well who would go to a museum of brick and mortar? we're talking about art, man, not construction materials.

I dunno. When you put it that way it sounds like the sort of mixed-media sculpture project that Mrs. Shredalot used to whip together after a serious bong session back in her art school days.

Too chic for this part of Utah, though. She's considering cranking out some still-life-with-moose for extra bucks this spring and summer.

Just be aware that BWI gets pretty fucking busy in the afternoons. Big commuter airport due to being a SWA hub. Leave time for security. The Camden Light Rail will be packed as well.

It's also about a 15min. walk between the Train station and the USS Torsk WW2 Sub (recommended tour) next to the Aquarium so keep that in mind too.
