Skiing in Korea
Last month, mtnbikerskierchick and I were lucky enough to travel to PyeongChang county, South Korea- site of the 2018 Olympics. The idea was hatched by mtnbikerskierchick's dad, who loves to travel and thought it would be fun to visit the site of the next Olympics. So it was a family ski vacation
Korea is not Japow. In fact, the area only averages 100" a year, with the rest being made up with snowmaking. Still, from what I saw the alpine events should be good ones, racers like that hard packed man made snow anyway. We lucked out and had snow most of the time we were there. A trip like this was obviously more about experiencing another country and eating new food, though we wish we had been able to get to Seoul and other places during our time in Korea.
Here's all of our posts from the trip:

Thanks for sharing.
That little side area on Yongpongdong doesn't seem big enough for Olympic skiing.
You guys lucked out to hit snow while you were there - only 100" a year? That's way less than the mountains of WV!They think I do not know a buttload of crap about the Gospel, but I do.

Cool stuff, mang. I've looked into doing some things over there. We found one place right on the northern border that we wanted to do that would probably involve getting mortared or shot at but looked worth investigating.
